Throughout my enriching educational journey at Temple University, I have come to realize the paramount importance of communicating ideas in a clear and structured manner. As many fellow creatives can attest, the pitching process can often be the most challenging aspect of bringing an idea to life. During my rewarding internship, I had the opportunity to delve into identifying and addressing critical issues. It was in this pursuit that I became deeply convinced of the urgency to address a specific problem. I embarked on a journey of ideation, diligently assessing various solutions to present at a prestigious summer research symposium. The focus of our innovation was combating CAUTI's (Catheter-Associated Urinary Tract Infections) as a part of nosocomial infections. This experience has been nothing short of incredible, as I have had the privilege of collaborating with brilliant minds and experts in the field. Together, we have shared our strategies and innovations, contributing to the collective effort to enhance healthcare outcomes and patient well-being. The joy of witnessing our ideas taking shape and being acknowledged for our efforts has been immensely gratifying. It has further fueled my passion for problem-solving and making a positive impact in the world. As I move forward in my journey, I am eagerly looking forward to sharing more ideas and tackling challenges efficiently. I firmly believe that through collaboration, determination, and structured communication, we can continue to innovate and create lasting solutions to real-world problems. If you share a similar zeal for innovation and problem-solving, I would be delighted to connect with you. Let's join forces to drive meaningful change and make a tangible difference in the lives of others. #EducationalJourney #StructuredCommunication #CreativityInAction #InnovationMatters #ProblemSolving #ResearchSymposium #HealthcareInnovation #CollaborationForChange #MakingADifference

That's what FTC aims to give our trainees, and that's Dr. Babur's feedback about his experience in joining our internships. Dr. Babur is an ophthalmologist from Kazakhstan, who joined our "Phacoemulsification Cataract" training before, and came for a second visit to join Vitreoretinal training and Refractive training. Currently pursuing Neuroscience at the University of Texas at Austin, Mansi is set to graduate in 2026. 🌟 See what she had to say below or head to our website for more for the full testimonial! Link in bio. #interntestimonials #medicalresearch #berkeleypharmatech “Being able to interact with scientific experts and peers motivated to advance medical research for the benefit of society is something I will forever be grateful for. When determined minds come together, the outcome is beyond imaginable! Collaboration and teamwork were at the core of this internship. Being able to understand exactly how the community and medical research field intersect through research projects was truly inspiring! Unlike traditional research internships, BPT truly emphasizes individualized growth, allowing for students to grow their scientific skills by working on projects that they are interested in without feeling obligated to one task or another! Yes, I would recommend this internship to others! BPT's emphasis on collaboration and inclusion of diversity truly brings you more than the traditional scientific skills one would hope to gain! Rating: 10/10”

Elsy Cruz Parra, a Richfield High School graduate, is considering a career as a doctor. Musab Mohamed, a Maple Grove High School graduate, discovered that he loves radiology. Sydney Rupert, a rising senior at Minnetonka High School, got a jump-start on her plans to become a surgeon. What do all these kids have in common? They're all students of color. And they all participated in the Hennepin Healthcare Talent Garden summer internship program. The program is on a mission to get more people of color into the healthcare talent pipeline. Why? Research shows that a diverse medical workforce leads to better health outcomes for people of color—from top level employees to entry-level workers across all touch points of care. While more people of color have been enrolling in medical school in recent years, the majority of active U.S. physicians identify as white. But the challenge of diversifying medical schools extends beyond recruiting students; it involves mentorship and institutional support. The Hennepin Healthcare Talent Garden is an example of how local initiatives can drive healthcare hiring and retention solutions from the onset and take steps towards bridging racial disparities in healthcare through early exposure and hands-on learning. How else can we shape a more diverse and equitable future medical workforce?
