OMG I passed Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) Business and Climate Change: A Journey to Net Zero course!!!!! I have been too scared to check my overall grade because this was a real labour of learning for me. I am not convinced online learning is the best learning environment for me but I persevered. I learned a lot both from the course but also from further reading, the podcasts I have found and new people on Linkedin I follow. This certificate is by no means the end of learning about net zero - it is just the beginning! The reason I did this course was to learn more about the net zero transition and how this intersects with climate justice - we can not just replace a fossil fuel-intensive product, service, or industry with green energy without looking at fair, equal, and equitable solutions for climate justice and equality! This is where I will continue to learn and support work that addresses both climate inequality and economic inequality. #netzero #justtransition #climatecrisis #climateaction #equality #cisl

Given the global challenges that we currently face and the critical role that business will play in helping to find and scale solutions; the Business Sustainability Management course at the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) felt like a great fit for some targeted development. And that faith turned out to be well placed - with superbly curated content covering a breadth of sustainability insights. This included critical capabilities such as integrating concepts like #systemsthinking, #circulareconomy and #sustainablefinance into more resilient business strategies and business models. I’d highly recommend this to anybody in a leadership or advisory role who wants to turbocharge generating sustainable growth. I learned a lot from leading at the intersection of public and private efforts around sustainability, Net Zero and Biodiversity Net Gain while at The Crown Estate. But the course has undoubtedly broadened and deepened my knowledge, to take into future roles. Sincere thanks to the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) and GetSmarter for all of their support, both before and throughout the course.

Business Sustainability Management - I've learned so much more about Sustainability in the past 8 weeks than I ever did in the past 2 years. This intensive course by the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) went beyond providing me with the solid foundational knowledge on the subject, it cultivated systems thinking and elevated my thought processes. I observed behavioural changes and a shift in values, especially when it comes to the practice of sufficiency. I now think twice before making any purchases and when I do I make an effort to go for responsible options that contribute to social and environmental impact.
