Pause to Protect is a new program designed to support firearm businesses that want to be a leader in their community’s efforts to prevent firearm-involved injuries and deaths through customer education and access to resources (e.g., locking devices and on-site storage). It allows firearm businesses to explore and implement services based on what works best for them, and to be supported via an online hub of materials, individualized technical support, and connection to other businesses implementing similar initiatives. Resources available via the online hub include:  👉 A national map of locations, including firearm businesses and law enforcement agencies, willing to consider community requests for temporary, voluntary firearm storage, created in partnership with Pierce’s Pledge.  👉 Examples of tested operating procedures for businesses interested in offering temporary on-site storage to customers.  👉 Business and insurance considerations for businesses interested in facilitating the distribution of storage devices.  👉 Guidance for business operators and staff on how to talk to customers about safe storage. The ACF didn't use much nuance here. The Title IV-E Prevention Services Clearinghouse is the name for the list of services approved for federal funding per the Family First Prevention Services Act. There are over a hundred services- most of which remain classified as experimental. This is CPS' grand shift. Accept CPS or paid contractors in your home monitoring your household in perpetuity for compliance with how the government thinks you should parent and if you refuse, take your chances with the possibility of family court involvement and foster care placement. Anytime the smallest concern comes up, the prevention services provider, as a mandated reporter paid by CPS with federal funding, will make another report and you'll be right back where you started with another investigation. They don't want to lose their contract by failing to report even the smallest concern. It may be less money per family, but you can push it on a lot more people for a lot longer with a lot less opportunity for recourse. This stands to bring in more money than foster care and shift the role of CPS to head of household- monitoring everyone to ensure no child is ever unsafe by mother government's standards. No court-appointed attorney if you're not in court and no one else appointed to be in your corner. It's just you and CPS. This is what advocacy and activism have brought us. They're prepared.
