Managing Partner, Desigm LLP &Principal Designer at The Design company India. I believe as a designer my purpose is to find answers to problems
The Other Side of Super HNIs: Adding Light Beyond the Limelight" As an interior designer at Desigm LLP, I've had the privilege of working with High Net Worth Individuals (HNIs) who invest in creating stunning spaces. Yet, there's a side to many of these less-famous HNIs that often goes unnoticed—a side filled with generosity and a commitment to making a difference in the lives of others. Recently, I came across an article highlighting Sheri Kersch Schultz, the wife of the renowned scaling-up genius Howard Schultz. While the Schultz Family Foundation is known for its philanthropic efforts, Sheri's work beyond the limelight truly inspired me. I'm grateful on behalf of the interior design community for the opportunities provided by companies like Starbucks, founded by Howard Schultz. While I may not have had the chance to design a Starbucks café personally, I recognize the vital role these spaces play in our communities. Starbucks cafes serve as more than just places to grab a coffee; they're meeting points for important discussions, creative collaborations, and moments of connection. It's incredible to witness how a well-designed space can inspire people and foster meaningful interactions. Through our work at Desigm LLP, we're not just creating beautiful interiors; we're also contributing to the fabric of our communities. It's a reminder that behind every stunning space, there's a potential for positive impact and change. Let's continue to design with purpose and passion, transforming spaces and lives along the way. Many communities rely on school district facilities for community education and recreation, forcing administrators to plan for flexible spaces and increased use hours (all on a tight budget). #classroomdesign #communityeducation #engagement #schooldesign #interiordesign #facilities
We are excited to share that the #MichelleObamaSchool has been nominated as the Editors’ Choice: Best Interior Design Projects of 2023 by i s. "Our September/October education issue illustrated a movement in the market of schools morphing into major community resources, rather than strictly learning centers for youth—which Multistudio’s Michelle Obama School in Richmond, Calif., featured in our closing On the Side column, did beautifully." #TogetherMultistudio #DesignMatters #EducationDesign

The Realtor And Guide For All Things Charleston #charleston #shorttermrentals #movingtosouthcarolina #charlestonliving #charlestonrealestate #charlestonhomes #multifamily #beachhouses #luxuryhomes
There’s nothing like a Charleston single house. They are distinct because of their symmetrical design, layout and beautiful piazzas - all facing the same direction, south or west, to catch the sea breezes. One of the most iconic features of the single house is the use of “privacy doors”. Sometimes called “hospitality doors”, each name speaks to its overall meaning and use; when the door was open, homeowners welcomed guests and neighbors. When it was closed - privacy please. Close-knit communities and the feeling of “knowing your neighbor” was, and is still, an important part of Charleston’s culture and likely influenced the saying, “Southern Hospitality”. If you take a stroll through any of Charleston’s historic neighborhoods, you will see endless examples and beautiful variations of the single house as style and tastes evolved. However, the layout and key architectural elements (like piazzas and privacy doors) have endured through the decades. What are some of your favorite Charleston streets to stroll?

Happy new year! I know I’m late to the party but this year has started at a sprint. Not how I like it as feel January should be a slow crawl out of the madness of Christmas. But I’m not complaining as have an exciting design project involving the overhaul of a beautiful Victorian villa. Surprisingly, despite its age and clear importance in its surroundings, this beautiful building isn’t listed. Not that that would be a problem necessarily as often gaining the listed building consent isn’t as complicated as most fear. I applied for another client back in October and received the go ahead just 6 weeks later. (In fact my clients are having their big reveal tomorrow!) Maybe we got lucky? Or maybe submitting the right information is key. I believe the latter. Knowing what the council want to know and presenting it in a way that clearly outlines your plans, intentions and needs is imperative. What’s your experience of decorating or renovating a listed building? #interiordesigner #listedbuildings #essexdesigner
