What could be more exciting than graduation? Seeing new health care graduates join the CoxHealth team! This week, CoxHealth welcomed a new cohort of nurses into the Graduate Nurse Residency program. For the next 12 weeks or more, these nurses will participate in extensive lab and classroom training sessions customized to the units they will be working. Throughout the residency program, they will develop and enhance their skills under the guidance of a clinical educator, preceptor and peer mentor. Founder of Happy Mind, Healthy Body, Happy Soul Consulting Registered Nurse at Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA)
Kicking off Nurses Week with heartfelt gratitude for all the incredible nurses out there — your dedication is nothing short of inspiring! I just got home from an evening at the hospital and I can’t stop thinking about this: We, as nurses, often prioritize everyone else’s well-being over our own. Overwhelmed and overworked, we tend to neglect our self-care, which is crucial, yet overlooked in our training. Why isn’t there a dedicated class on self-care in nursing school? The demands of our job are not only physical but also mental, emotional, and spiritual. If we can’t take care of ourselves, how can we possibly hope to offer the best care to our patients? Despite our deep understanding of human physiology and pharmacology, many of us aren’t equipped to manage our well-being holistically. Imagine the benefits for not only nurses but also for the patients, if such education were included from the start. In our overtasked and understaffed healthcare system, it’s high time we made it mandatory to teach our future nurses comprehensive self-care strategies—not just through brief workshops, but as a consistent, integrated part of our education. Let’s commit to equipping nurses with the tools they need to sustain their health and prevent burnout. As someone who already implements these self-care strategies with my migraine clients, I know firsthand the impact they can have. If you're interested in bringing these practices into our nursing education, or if you’ve thought about implementing similar strategies, please reach out. We need to talk more and make a real change together! #nursesweek #foodforthought

🚨Applications are now open for the second Arizona Transition to Practice Program for New Graduate Registered Nurses cohort beginning in June 2024! Any Arizona healthcare facility licensed by ADHS that hires new graduate registered nurses is eligible to apply for the program. What you need to know: 👩⚕️This program will create an environment where our nurses can transition seamlessly from academia to practice. 🏥Priority will be given to critical access hospitals or hospitals located in counties with a population of less than 500,000 people. 👉Participation in the program is voluntary, and there is no cost to join. ❌Hospitals with existing 12-month Transition to Practice programs are not eligible for this program. Why should nurses care about care plans? Practicing nurses will tell students constantly "no one uses those after school," leaving students to wonder why they should bother learning about care plans in the first place. I'll tell you! A well-crafted nursing care plan is what elevates your nursing practice from a list of orders and tasks to a holistic, patient-centered, proactive practice. It's where you start preventing problems rather than just putting out fires. The fact is though, you're already in the fire. So this all sounds nice but you don't have one more minute, let alone space in your brain, to dig into nursing care plans, learn new diagnoses, etc. I know this, and I've got you! NurseFlow 360 will help you generate relevant, comprehensive care plans with just a click. You put in the medical diagnosis and our AI powered agent does the rest. This might be the most useful you click you make all shift. Our waitlist is open and I hope you'll sign up if you are a nurse: especially student nurses, nurse educators, preceptors, and float/travel nurses. This product is built by a nurse for nurses and I would be honored to have your feedback as we move forward. #nurses #nursingpractice #careplans #patientcentered #nursingprocess nurseflow360.xyz
