Already in Switzerland almost 1 person of 3 is not from Swiss at all (not to discriminate them, just to provide facts). Other countries like Germany are nothing better. Even where we live now, or where we lived when we studied at ETHZ, there was/were almost more Italians than Swiss people (again not to discriminate them, at the end we speak Italian too, so just to provide facts). Same if you open TikTok. Seems like if Switzerland is 🇦🇱 Albania, because you see almost posts from such people (again not to discriminate). So in conclusion: people should really start to open their eyes! by removing their tomatoes ... Check facts before saying bullshit. Remember that such people can contribute with good content too. We see always good things released by not swiss people or people not coming from other countries, if we are searching for example things in France ... It's not the nationality the problem, it's more the mentality of the people. We need to be honest: Swiss people are simply closed at all! It's much more easier to talk to people coming from other countries ... If you asked me a few years back before I had any on field experience if in Papua New Guinea there really do exist true media freedom I would've probably agreed more not wholy but definitely mostly agreed because we're a democratic nation & to be honest at the time I didn't really see my rights being restricted & most definitely didn't see it coming from the people themselves. Today however, with a little experience that I've gained particularly in my designated location I can wholy agree most definitely that there lies no such thing as media freedom in a culturally diverse place with the majority of the people uneducated. I can't be the person on ground reporting as the neutral person. I know I'm the middle person but not the perpetrator ( if he/she is educated enough may know but than again he/she has the power of manipulation towards his/her followers) nor his or her supporters, friends & relatives see that. To them I, not the organization I represent, me personally, as one individual reporting what I hear or see becomes there enemy. When this happens I'm not the only one in danger so is my family. From my personal experience that I still am battling anxiety because of I'm telling you especially if you are someone who is taking journalism or wants to become a journalist or work in media in Papua New Guinea that it isn't the glitter and glam/the well presentation on radio & Screen you see that's marketing, when it comes down to it, it can become life threatening. It's a heavy duty NOT a profession. You don't leave the duty in the office when you go home it becomes part of you. So if you ask me about journalism in Papua New Guinea being free today? My answer is probably not what most may think, it's not the government that suppress media freedom from my angle but the people themselves. We live in a democratic nation in picture with communist minded (right or wrong) people on ground given the cultural diversity & the majority uneducated people. So you can't only be a media person but a sociologist & a psychologist it seems to me in Papua New Guinea. Most especially when covering controversial or sensitive topics. NOTE: Not sharing this to scare you but just sharing a reality that I've come to experience.
