NHS Director of Estates & Facilities Management providing Leadership & Development for a sustainable Future
I've just spent the day on a stakeholder panel for a Deputy Director of Finance, and it got me thinking: what makes the ideal candidate? But then I started to wonder, what do non-Estates & Facilities colleagues think a good Director of Estates & Facilities looks and feels like? Perhaps this is a brave question, but I believe it's an important one. Let's start a conversation and share our thoughts on what qualities and skills make for a successful Director of Estates. #FacilitiesManagement #EstatesManagement #LeadershipQualities

“This has without doubt made us realise as Directors we’re not sharing the workload with our employees.” Does this sound familiar? It’s a common challenge for business owners. Especially ones that experience rapid growth. As Aimee Panons from Paradigm Consulting, knew only too well until she completed our Organisational Review (10 Hats) with the other Directors in their business. “Working through the organisation chart was great to be able to form clear staff tiers which allowed the Directors to focus on our own roles – and continue to focus on growing the business.” “The business is growing at such a fast pace and having the organisation chart has allowed us to be more methodical approach to recruitment, which is such a key part to our business development at the moment.” We’re not just your average accountants. And love to get involved in business advisory support with our clients. Thanks for the great feedback @Aimee Panons. Want to know more? Cash-strapped councils have been following management consultants’ advice to split up their planning teams. Staff have been put into central departments to handle additional non-planning tasks. But the upshot, say critics, has been declining performance and a staff exodus #planning #localgovernment #LPAs #planningauthorities #skills #staff #planningteam #planningjobs #councils #localcouncils #section114 #finance #councilfinance #publicsector

"C-level" is a term used to describe high-ranking executive positions within a company. These positions typically have titles that start with the letter "C", such as : • Chief Executive Officer (CEO) • Chief Operations Officer (COO) • Chief Financial Officer (CFO) • Chief Information Officer (CIO) • Chief Technology Officer (CTO) • Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) C-level employees are typically responsible for making strategic decisions, setting company goals and objectives, and overseeing the overall direction and operations of the organisation. They are considered the highest level of management and are often members of the company's board of directors. The term "C-level" is derived from the titles of these positions, which all start with the letter "C". It is commonly used in business and industry to refer to these high-level executives and the level of authority and responsibility they hold within their organisations.

Supporting our managers at Association of International Certified Professional Accountants has been a key ongoing activity for me over the past 2 years in role. I was lucky to have a great foundation to continue to build on as we recognise the importance our managers are to business success. So, what have we been doing to ensure they have everything they need to be successful? Here’s what we’ve done so far: 🧠Socialised the idea that people management is hard and can put a strain on cognitive load ✨Provided an internal portal to find useful resources 📧Monthly communication targeted to our people manager population 📣Monthly sessions sharing and discussing hot topics important to people management 🌟Reviewed and refreshed our Management Charter against Chartered Management Institute professional standards 🤫Offer 1 to 1 confidential conversations for people managers to talk through challenges 👨🏫developed micro learns for new and experienced managers to access learning on specific topics at their point of need We’re not stopping here. I’m on a mission to continuously improve the support we provide our people managers and would love to hear what others are doing. Please feel free to connect if you want to compare notes 😁
