The insulin shortage in the US is a travesty that is failing patients in need of this life-saving medicine. For people with type 1 diabetes, they can’t wait a month or a week for a fresh batch — they need it today, and every day. Type 1 diabetes is a distinct disease from type 2, the far more common version of diabetes. It isn’t the result of an unhealthy lifestyle, yet it is much more deadly without treatment, which means having a reliable insulin supply shouldn’t be a question. Unfortunately, too many people are locked out due to financial constraints, often with deadly consequences. The silver lining is that type 1 diabetes can be managed successfully with insulin and a proper care regimen. Learn more. #Type1Diabetes #Insulin #StoryMD #StoryMDHealth https://str.md/5Zaq48
