Did you know that 40% of all food produced in the USA is wasted? And that’s not food that has expired, it’s food from producers that they can no longer use. At CookUnity we are consistently striving to reduce food waste, and that’s why we are so passionate about our partnership with Rethink Food. In celebration of Earth Day 🌎, last week we visited Rethink Food, our nationwide donations partner. Together, we're repurposing our surplus food to combat food insecurity. 🥗 Every single day, the team at ReThink visits us in our Brooklyn facility to pick up ingredients and our chef-crafted meals, distributing them to those in need within our communities. Since July 2021, we donated 149,368 lbs of food equivalent to 129,885 meals. This is such an important initiative, and something we are so proud that we get to do with Rethink Food. 🚀 A huge shout out to the team at Rethink Food and our sustainability team led by María Bengochea at CookUnity for helping to nourish local communities throughout the US.
