I’m excited to share our FY23 NIKE, Inc. Impact Report. At Nike, we believe in the power of sport and the incredible community it creates. It’s through this community that we’re able to be part of building a better world — one that’s more inclusive, equitable, diverse and sustainable. And, with its release, we’re proud to share the progress we’re making toward that goal — in supporting our People, our Planet and the next generation of sport and Play.
Here are a few Social & Community Impact highlights from FY23:
· We directly helped over 1.1 million kids around the world get moving — 48% of whom were girls — through our community partners’ diverse offering of play and sport programs.
· We expanded coaching access for women and continued to share our coaching strategies and tools, reaching more than 142,000 coaches and training more than 14,000 of them through in-person and virtual sport coach training, with an emphasis on strategies to get and keep girls active.
· Through our Inclusive Community investment portfolios, which includes our Black Community Commitment, NIKE, Inc. directed $40.8 million to organizations that are committed to advancing equality for underserved communities across the globe.
· We also expanded our commitment to girls by partnering with Dove, the world’s biggest provider of self-esteem and body confidence education, to create Body Confident Sport.

I have always loved Nike, and as a marketing leader, I still seek inspiration from this brand today when I am trying to get in touch with my personal marketing creativity. To me, Nike breaks the mold and has continually redefined the customer connection.
Beyond the iconic swoosh, Nike embodies a spirit of innovation, inclusivity, and empowerment that transcends the realm of athletic apparel. Here's why, as a marketing leader, I find their approach so impactful:
● Cutting-Edge Marketing: Nike's advertising campaigns are never short of captivating. They masterfully weave storytelling and emotional connection into their messaging, inspiring viewers to push boundaries and achieve their goals. This resonates deeply with me, as I lead NCR Voyix marketing, an emerging company constantly innovating and pushing the boundaries of the financial landscape.
● Championing Gender Equality: Nike's commitment to gender equality in sports is something I wholeheartedly admire. Their campaigns like "Dream Crazier" and their support of female athletes redefine the narrative around women in sports. I am a champion for the equality of women not only in the workplace but in the financial realm of digital banking as well.
● Building a Loyal Community: Nike doesn't just sell products, they cultivate a global community. Their use of social media and brand experiences creates a sense of belonging and shared passion. In the digital banking space, fostering trust and community is crucial. We need to go beyond transactions and create a space where our customers feel empowered and supported.
Nike's unwavering dedication to innovation, inclusivity, and community building serves as a constant source of inspiration for me as a CMO. It reminds me that even in the digital realm, building a brand goes beyond features and functions. It's about connecting with people on an emotional level, empowering them to achieve their goals, and fostering a sense of belonging.

Nike. It's more than a brand for me; it's a feeling.
Let's rewind a decade. Growing up, Nike wasn't just on my feet, it was on my heroes' feet too. From witnessing MJ's impossible fadeaway to Serena's powerful serves, Nike athletes pushed the boundaries of what seemed possible. That's what sparked the fire in me – to constantly strive for better.
Fast forward to today, Nike isn't just a logo, it's a community. A community that celebrates progress, no matter how big or small. It's the high five with a fellow runner after crushing a new PB. It's the supportive comments on my Nike Training Club (NTC) workouts. It's the feeling of belonging that pushes me to keep going, even on those "ugh, I don't wanna" days.
Sure, Nike makes incredible products. But for me, it's the why behind them. It's the message of constantly innovating, of believing in the power of "Just Do It." That message is what resonates with me on a personal and professional level. It's about constantly learning, pushing my limits, and striving to be the best version of myself.

Narrated by Willem Dafoe, the ad features renowned athletes such as LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Serena Williams, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Victor Wembanyama, and Kylian Mbappé. The narrative dives into the intense and often harsh internal dialogue of athletes, questioning whether the qualities required to win—such as being obsessive, deceptive, and selfish—make someone a bad person.
Despite sparking outrage for its seemingly aggressive, villain-like tone and perceived promotion of disrespectful behavior, the ad is a testament to the creativity and boldness of its creators. It effectively captures the unapologetic nature of greatness in sports. The narration is masterfully executed, evoking strong emotions and engagement from the audience.
While the public's outrage is understandable, isn't it a sign that the ad is achieving its goal?
