Nearly 40 years ago, Converse debuted our most iconic basketball silhouette—the Converse Weapon—at NBA All-Star Weekend. At that moment, we introduced to the game of basketball a silhouette that would become the preeminent sneaker of choice for players of the era. Since then, the connection between Converse and basketball has been unbreakable, our unique histories forever intertwined. Earlier this month, our legacy and impact in the sport came full circle as we returned to NBA All-Star Weekend for the re-launch of the Converse Weapon, led by our Create History Not Hype campaign starring Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. On the ground in Indianapolis, Converse created a branded footprint in the streets with a one-of-a-kind pop-up experience, along with a tri-brand moment with Nike and Jordan as part of an activation with Foot Locker. But we weren’t done there… Converse hosted Shai Gilgeous-Alexander for a conversation on the re-launch of the Converse Weapon, the Create History Not Hype campaign, and his ongoing partnership with our brand, moderated by fashion and basketball journalist Speedy Morman. What a big weekend for basketball and an even bigger weekend for our brand. Check out some of the photos below! #CreateNext #WeCreateNext #NBAAllStarWeekend

Simply love your 'All star' Black and white low rise sneakers. Literally my everyday go to pair of shoes. Be it casual or professional!
Converse Definitely need to create a Converse basketball social media platform. People need to understand the the history of Converse and basketball. Basketball lifestyle needs to be separated from Converse fashion lifestyle to gain that much need identity back. Consumers need to see the highlights of Magic and Bird fighting for the championship. They need to see players like Larry Johnson and Dennis Rodman in their prime to understand the culture of converse. The basketball page should also focus more attention on Shai career and any upcoming signature sneakers. They need to see the past and present and future of Converse basketball culture.
Not many people remember that MJ wore Converse — and rose to greatness — in college at Carolina.

I have worn Converse my whole life college, concerts, protest marches, girls night out, volunteering and ofcourse to work!
Don’t get me wrong, the Weapon is a very iconic basketball shoe, but wouldn’t the Chuck Taylor All Star be ‘the most iconic basketball silhouette’ that Converse has produced?

4moConverse I think people need to be reminded on how this brand was once the face of Basketball. Converse and basketball are one in the same from the Blacktop to the Hardwood. Converse needs to get back to that basketball lifestyle culture. This brand has been apart of some of NBA greatest dynasties like the Lakers and Celtics. Converse became the signature sneaker for legends like Magic and Bird Before their was a MJ you had Dr Jay and all those iconic moves we still talk about today were created in Converse!!!!!! All time Defensive Player and Champion Dennis Rodman. Now you guys have one of the future faces of the NBA in Shai. Shai definitely has the potential to take the brand and create some incredible brand awareness. Converse definitely needs a Converse Basketball page on all social media platforms. This can provide old and new consumer a personal connection to basketball life at converse. Also I would team up with Shai and create a strong consumer base in Canada!! Toronto would definitely embrace and create awareness. The Rebirth of Converse Tom Rand Austin Bryant Kate Bouteiller Rodney Rambo Victoria Gillott Jared Carver Zhenia Villa
