This group was started in nov 2023 under the umbrella of 501(c)3 charity JETPAC 💕 Sounds lovely! Except... : JETPAC is a nonprofit that works to increase Muslim representation in the government and politics in the USA. Still sounds alright. . . Except for an organization that cares so much about genocide it’s concerning they haven’t talked about the genocide(s) happening in: Syria Turkey China (against the poor Muslim Uyghur people) Afghanistan Nigeria Etc. The reason this is important is because we need to see where our links, documents, and ‘act’s are originating from and what these organizations actions are and actual purpose is… When Doctors Against Genocide (DAG) only comes into existence *after* a real geonocide of Israel’s black Saturday of 7.10.23 and says nothing about it?!! AND at the same time doesn’t acknowledge other countries’ actual geonocidal suffering you question why so focused on just one area: Israel and why so one sided? The answer is clear… this is a hit squad, focused to cause mayhem and chaos to push a singular agenda of targeting Jewish businesses & people abroad. Sorry DAG you’ve lost credibility before you even became a legit group. Education and research - trace your sources always

How does the language we use impact our understanding of historical atrocities? Communities worldwide are still grappling with the histories and consequences of mass atrocities. Words matter. When we seek to compare the Holocaust with other genocides, crimes against humanity, or war crimes, our choice of terms can communicate respect and bring clarity, or they can offend and distort. The International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance IHRAs new resource consists of guiding questions to ask when using comparative approaches on this critical issue. 🗣 Call for Papers for a special issue of Holocaust Studies: A Journal of Culture and History! 💡In this special issue focused on “Creative Responses to Holocaust Materialities”, they aim to further examine the ‘material turn’ of Holocaust studies through the lens of creative practices, which remains an understudied area of this movement. 👉Contributions to this special issue might explore artists’ reflecting critically on their own creative processes working, for instance, with textiles, objects, images, or sound as an ephemeral artifact, and critics showing how survivors or their descendants have represented the Holocaust through these materialities. 📅The deadline for submission is August 1st, 2024. ℹFor more information, please visit: https://bit.ly/3KWukIZ #CfP #HolocaustStudies

NEW PRACTICES IN HOLOCAUST COMPARISON Holocaust comparison is a growing trend Many Holocaust museums and memorial centers are now engaging in educational activities about different mass atrocity crime events alongside the Holocaust, often in a comparative fashion. Furthermore, many academic courses and programs globally are teaching the Holocaust not only comparatively to other events in which genocide and crimes against humanity were committed, but also as a framework for understanding racism, xenophobia, and other current human rights issues. To “compare” does not mean “to equalize,” but to carefully explore differences and commonalities. Careless comparisons distort understandings of both the Holocaust and other mass atrocity crime events. Taking a cautious approach to comparison helps to reflect upon what we mean when we compare multiple historical and contemporary events

Survivors’ first-hand accounts have been essential to learning about and preventing a repeat of the Holocaust. Their testimonies provide a vast historical record and invaluable human perspective. The Holocaust is the most well-documented genocide in history. Yet misinformation is thriving in the 21st century. Learn what you can do at spotliesspreadfacts.org.

6 000 0000 people… behind those numbers 2 of my uncles were murdered in early childhood and buried in mass grave in their village in Poland. Many other relatives were murdered in Ukraine, Khmelnitska oblast. This is a part of the family that is forever lost… those people didn’t have children and grandchildren . Behind those numbers millions of great people that could contribute to humanity in so many ways: science, art, literature and just being good people , our friends, colleagues, relatives and neighbors. Pogrom attacks on Jewish villagers and communities predated the Holocaust . They started with rising antisemitism in the 1930th . To educate myself about Jewish History years ago I read about those acts of barbarism and terror when Jews were butchered, raped, tortured, their houses and businesses vandalized or burned , but I naively believed that this is history , the past. I thought that in modern times it will not happen anymore. I also tried to understand how all this was possible in 20th century and believed that the truth was hidden from people and without internet, whatsApp and free press they were mislead by propaganda or just did not knew what was happening. Seeing genocidal act of Pogrom terror attack in 21-st century and then millions of people denying , justifying or even celebrating this act or terror is terrifying. The demonization of Jews and raising antisemitism is shocking. Stand with Israel, stand with Jews, do not let mutated form of Nazi Fascism antisemitism now called antizionism to cloud your vision and lead to death of millions of Jews again. #NeverAgainIsNow #jews #standeithisrael #antisemitism #antizionism #jews #minorities #ethnicminorities #religiousminorities
“Those that fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.” - Winston Churchill Today, on the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, we honor the six million Jewish victims of the Holocaust. Our pledge of “Never again” has new meaning now. #HolocaustRemembranceDay

Holocaust Memorial Day 2024 Professor Daniele Albertazzi, CBE Co-Director, speaks about the fragility of democracy, "Holocaust Memorial Day makes us all aware of the importance of remembering and passing on key values to the next generations, aware of how quickly unimaginable tragedies can overcome us." Our Politics Theory Lecturer Alex Leveringhaus, PhD notes "Holocaust Memorial Day is important to me because it serves as a reminder of how morally abhorrent ideas can motivate humans to exterminate millions of their fellow human beings," as he poses the question "Can freedom undermine freedom?" A sharp and enlightening TED talk on the continuing relevance of Holocaust education by Dr Steven Cooke! We have to talk about the Holocaust here | Dr Steven Cooke | TEDxMaldon Within the next few years there will be a Holocaust museum or education centre in every state and territory in Australia. The motivations for this are many, but often focus on the role of Holocaust education in learning from the past to inform a more peaceful and cohesive future. Within the context of the passing of the survivor generation, and the contemporary rise in antisemitism and racism, what is the future for Holocaust education in Australia? https://lnkd.in/dgRGzSuZ
