Some moments are meant to be savored, and the solar panel deployment tests for our satellite constellation are certainly one of them. These tests assure us and our customers that our constellation will have the power to achieve its ambitious goals: 🔍 Providing some of the highest-resolution thermal imagery to measure land surface temperature accurately anywhere on the globe. 💧 Helping save 60 billion tons of water and prevent 14 megatons of CO2 emissions over the next 5 years. 💰 Generating billions of Euros in gross benefits for farmers through reduced crop loss and water savings. The project was co-funded by the European Space Agency - ESA's #InCubed programme. In addition to the co-funding, the ESA team provided valuable technical expertise and commercial support. Thanks to ESA #InCubed and partners, we are one step closer to enhancing food security on Earth. We had the pleasure of welcoming representatives from European Space Agency - ESA and ACRI-ST to our Munich office. We discussed our Calibration and Validation approach for our HiVE thermal data as part of the Copernicus Contributing Mission Programme. Their invaluable feedback is crucial to ensuring we deliver top-notch data quality in support of the Copernicus Programme objectives. 🚀 As a Category 1 company, we're committed to providing Earth Observation #EO data that meets the high standards of Copernicus, both in terms of data quality and delivery performance. India is facing one of its most intense heat waves on record, with Delhi's temperatures reaching unprecedented highs and on the brink of breaking national records. Simultaneously, Pakistan is warming at a rate faster than the global average, making it one of the most vulnerable in the world to climate change. Especially last month both capital cities have seen dramatic changes in Land Surface Temperature. 🔥 Hyderabad: Extreme temperatures soared up to 60°C in some areas. 🔥 New Delhi: LST images from May 19th and 27th revealed urban areas experiencing temperatures up to 50°C. 🔍 LST30 heat maps derived from Landsat data precisely identify these temperature hotspots: ➡ Hyderabad: Significant temperature rise observed along the main waterway and urban centers. ➡ New Delhi: Highest temperatures are concentrated along the river and densely populated areas. What are the consequences of these findings? Addressing these hotspots is critical for developing strategies to mitigate the effects of such extreme weather events and improve urban resilience.
