As the saying goes, better late than never....   Last week we had an amazing two day 'Thrive, Don't Just Survive' workshop with the HY Group at the beautiful Shangri-La Rasa Sayang, Sentosa, Singapore. Many thanks to See Fong Ho for arranging everything, and working so effectively and patiently with us, and to all of his team for their really valuable contributions, effort and commitment to the sessions.   I was working alongside my long time friend, ex-boss, business partner and mentor Stephen Phipps the Founder and CEO of Corporate Lifecycles LLC, MD, USA, who we flew all the way from the Great Lakes state of Michigan for this event; and other 'Roundtable' sessions at the prestigious Tanglin Club at the end of the week. Time had certainly stood still as I'd not physically seen Stephen in over 20 years, however, the old banter and jokes were still there...unfortunately!   The workshop introduced the Adizes® Corporate Lifecycle methodology to the HY Group of Companies, which Stephen has been involved with for over 25 years, having been personally trained by Dr. Adizes himself, and which now Arcanum will now be promoting and using throughout Asia with help from Stephen. After two solid days we ended up with a Strategic Roadmap, identifying over 50 Potential Improvement Points (PIP's), which gave the entire team a newfound understanding of where the various HY companies were on the Lifecycle Curve, and the areas of improvement we all need to focus on.   The methodology creates sustainable change from within, so by enabling the HY Group to discover their own solutions, collectively we can help them build strong ownership, accountability, and most of all commitment to change.   My sincere thanks again to See Fong Ho and all the HY Group, and to my Arcanum partners, friends, colleagues and helpers without whom the event would not have been the success it was. "Have any of you thought of quitting? a question posed to the panellists by Michael Sherwin M. Macatangay, EMBA during the filming of the "Collaborate to Innovate" TV Forum on 23rd January. My answer is a definite "Yes". Many times in fact. But I am still pressing on - Why? I often encourage myself by saying that "Anything worth doing is challenging". But what really keeps me going? Part of the answer is in the video. 1) People - Singaporeans are generally camera shy but it didn't stop many from testifying on their experience with W0W noodle during "Flavours of Tomorrow" organised by CapitaLand Innovate360 NUS Enterprise. 2) Health & Environment Impact - Strangers who came up to me to give a word of affirmation on the positive impact of our work at KosmodeHealth Singapore . Consumers who feedback on how their health test results have "never been better" after they started on W0W(R) noodle (fyi - it is my experience too. I have had high LDL since my 20s, was pleasantly surprised that my LDL is within range in my recent test - never happened before) To those of you who have given feedback, in person, on our W0W(R) website/social media and/or approached me with words of affirmation, you are the "fuel" that keep me going & my passion burning. Poipoia te kākano kia puāwai. Nurture the seed and it will bloom. Thanks to everyone who joined and contributed so generously to the Kiwi Collab today, with RCSA NZ Council rep Fiona Harland FRCSA hosting a highly interactive discussion on how the group is approaching 2024. After kickstarting this year's Kiwi Collabs, Fi had this to share: "It was wonderful to see new faces and familiar faces. What better way to start the year than with intention setting. New year resolutions always feel like they end up being broken but an intention I feel is like a compass, it brings you back to your why and your commitment to yourself that's tied to a purpose. Our Kiwi is full of wonderful intentions born from our collab today. They are all positive and uplifting and I think have set the scene for our collabs for 2024 and for our industry as a whole. What we do in our industry has purpose, based on our care and passion for people." Which takes me back to this whakataukī (proverb): Poipoia te kākano kia puāwai - Nurture the seed and it will bloom. We all have untapped potential within us, and any change requires personal commitment (so setting intentions highly relevant) and peer support and real talk not only helps us reach our goals faster but with more meaning along the way. This proverb also highlights the value of human first connections and investing in relationships. These sessions are always a highlight for me, for the people in our recruitment, talent, staffing and partner community who continue to show up, keep it real, BS free and share challenges and experiences to help, support and inspire each other.
