Women play a crucial role in safety engineering, bringing unique perspectives and invaluable contributions. Ultimately leading to more inclusive and effective safety solutions. Despite progress, women remain underrepresented in engineering fields, comprising only 13 per cent of working engineers globally, according to the Society of Women Engineers' Fast Facts 2023 report. This underrepresentation often starts early in education. Gladly, the future looks promising as educational institutions and industries are actively working to bridge this gap. At Säkerhetsuniversitetet in Stockholm, students like Amanda Grahn exemplify this progress. With the support of the university and Consilium Safety Group, Amanda is part of a new generation of safety engineers who are ready to make a difference.
