2 Pearls of Wisdom on Keeping Our People in the Jewelry Industry from the late masterful Kate Peterson: 1) Understand you have a lot to offer. (context: your sales clerk may be able to earn $18/hour at Sonic, but that comes with a tight standard to put x # of burgers per hour in a bag; whereas, working in a jewelry store is daily and long-term fulfillment) 2) Get past the chain store mentality. (context: a true career path is not taking your best sales person and making them the manager. These are 2 very different skill sets. Direct your team into the areas that they love.) [my input: Read more on Passion and Proficiency with Michael Hyatt's Freedom Compass] 💭 "You can't keep doing things the way you always have, if everything around you has changed." - Kate Peterson digested from Ep 23 Pearls of Wisdom / Southern Jewelry News Inc. https://lnkd.in/e6DCwZfE

Huge news in the watch market For my non-watch friends, this would be like if JP Morgan, Goldman, and BoA merged. Long term this means you will see historically online only resellers like govberg and watchbox have many local physical locations and if this is what it took for them to get into Rolex's new CPO program it makes a lot of sense. This is an interesting play because we knew watchbox was looking to open many many locations, but never knew how. Moving into radcliffe and hyde park locations makes way more sense than building their own. No real impact to what I do, but it is interesting to note there is a big push in the luxury space, across watches, cars, fashion, art, etc. to build local relationships with dealers whereas for the 2010s at least you could shop globally especially during vacations. You may have noticed authorized dealers you visit on routine trips/holidays telling you to talk to your local authorized dealers instead of themselves--although there is a case to be made if you visit the same travel destination often enough during the year. Either way, I'll still be here to help you navigate the luxury space. Watches, cars, real estate, & art. #watchbox #govberg #radcliffe #hydepark #the1916company #watches #watchmarket

From Rs. 0 in sales on DAY 1 to Rs. 260,000 on DAY 2, that's how I started my menswear brand Paarsh Atelier! In 2018, I poured my heart and soul into creating my first-ever ethnic menswear collection of around 40 𝐩𝐢𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐱𝐡𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐭 𝐢𝐭. I remember that day I was a mix of excited, jittery, nervous, happy, and optimistic. 𝐒𝐨 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞! I reached the venue, decorated the stall with my hands, displayed my products, and eagerly awaited customers. Hours passed by, and it was time to call it a day, I checked my money box- "Amount - Rs. 0." I had made zero sales. Disheartened, I returned home and confided in my brother, "𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐈 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧? 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐚 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤?" Despite my doubts, I was determined to make this work. 𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐬𝐧'𝐭 𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐮𝐩 𝐬𝐨 𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐲. The next day, I returned with a plan. I wrote "50% 𝐨𝐟𝐟 𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬" on a board and placed it outside my stall. 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠! The stall was brimming with customers the entire day! I called my mother and siblings to help out, and by the end of the day, I 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡 260,000 𝐈𝐍𝐑! I was over the moon! I knew I sold my products at a 50% discount, but 𝐈 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐟 𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐦𝐲 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐬, 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤. Also, 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐚 𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐞, 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬 - I could make more than 2 lakhs in sales, 𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐡 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥! After the exhibition, as I fulfilled all the customer orders that poured in during the exhibition—making the products, meeting expectations, and delivering them—𝐈 𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐣𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐀𝐀𝐑𝐒𝐇. I decided we were going on this road, on this path. 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠! #paarsh #journey #firstcustomer

Sales Teams Ignition Specialist🔥Fuelling Teams to Fire up Sales │ Speaker - Fearless & Fired Up │ Trainer - Tick Tock Sales│ Author - Database to Dollars
What do you sell? Here's the thing. Most salespeople get caught up on telling customers all about what their product or service is. They rattle off everything that's included in the offer. Do you know what they really want to hear? How it benefits them. The outcomes it will achieve for them. What it feels like once they buy or use it. Jeep doesn't sell vehicles - they sell the promise of exploration and adventure. The Jeep is the gateway to beach driving, off road camping and fishing trips. Gucci isn't all about shoes, bags and accessories - it's a symbol of unparalled elegance. Women feel luxurious when they wear their Gucci to lunch or heading out and about with their girlfriends. Red Bull doesn't offer a mere beverage - it's an invitation to live life to the fullest, an adrenaline fuelled journey! What do you sell? Distinguish yourself from your competitors by selling dreams, aspirations and the transformative power of your product.
