Donating to charities is a win-win when filing taxes. You get to help a cause you care about and can claim dedications on cash contributions. But what happens when the charity you’ve given to is fraudulent? You’ve now donated to a false entity, haven’t helped the cause, and cannot write it off on your taxes. With how easy it is to share information online these days, authentic non-profits can stretch their influence father than before. But it also means that fraudulent schemes can pop up and go viral just as easily. In other cases, organizations have mishandled generous donations or don’t allocate funding properly. Consider these tips to help confirm if the charity you want to donate to is making a real impact: https://lnkd.in/e56Fk7jy -Posted by OneUp

Finally a masters that focuses on (really super) powers; lycra & capes not essential: "Your charity’s ‘purpose’ is what it is set up to achieve. Its ‘powers’ are what it can do to help achieve the purpose, such as raise funds, buy property or borrow money. The difference is that the powers are about how the charity operates; the purpose is about what it delivers. For example, your charity’s powers may say how your charity will raise funds; its purpose says how it will use the funds it raises (Charity Commission, 2014)." Come a develop your super powers with us... [Charity Commission. (2014b). How to write charitable purposes. London: Gov.UK.]

The Covid 19 pandemic has encouraged many of us to take a closer look at our local communities and to consider how we can make a difference. Giving to #charity can be a powerful way to invest in the people and places that make up our everyday lives, and support the causes that our personal values allign with. Not everyone has the means to donate to charity, but getting involved in fundraising for a cause they believe in not only helps promote a charity's message and goals, but encourages others to get involved and spread the word. #WisdomWednesday #Changemakers

The stats surrounding sepsis are quite alarming and I have seen first hand how scary this diagnosis can be. Please help to raise awareness of the seriousness of this condition and take a few minutes to become #SepsisSavvy Link below 👇 #worldsepsisday
Today is #WorldSepsisDay – a day dedicated to raising awareness of a condition which claims 11 million lives globally each year. While we’re committed to raising awareness every day, today we’re presented with a real opportunity for your donations to make a difference thanks to the generosity of one of our corporate supporters, Bridgepoint. All funds donated today up to the total sum of £30,000 will be worth twice as much this #SepsisAwarenessMonth due to matched funding. Here’s how your contribution could make a vital difference to our charity, which receives no state funding and is reliant entirely on donations from wonderful supporters like yourself to continue our life-saving work. Support our mission today: https://lnkd.in/dBpY_99D
