This morning the first thing I thought about when I woke up was the great piece of news I posted about last night: the achievement of the “Plant-based Innovation Award” by HIFOOD and Alianza Team Europe. As well as being incredibly proud, this award made me realize once again how important strategic business relationships are in reaching great milestones to advance the food industry. I have always been a great supporter of alliances among companies as they allow to leverage individual areas of expertise and embrace accretive opportunities that otherwise would be hard to achieve. The advanced version of MirrorTissue is a great emblem of this principle: it effectively combines Alianza Team's solution based on plant-based lipid fats with HIFOOD's proprietary technology, based on plant proteins and soluble plant fiber obtained from oilseeds. The result of this combination is a clean-label, allergen-free vegetable fat that does not use tropical oils and that is perfect for the plant-based meat alternatives, in order to grant the desired results when it comes to juiciness, taste and consistency. 1 1=5 // 36 Hours with CSM Ingredients and HIFOOD teams @FI Europe Frankfurt. I arrived back yesterday after an intense 36-hour trip to Frankfurt with the CSM and HiFood teams. During my time there, we took a tour of the startup area, visited the pavilions, participated in a long list of meetings, listened to startup pitches, brainstormed with a few companies on upcoming projects, catched-up with friends and colleagues, and had many many insightful conversations. If there is one thing to remember, it is the incredible collaborative spirit at every level of the company. In CSM and HiFood people there is a unique commitment to change the #food system, there is this energy that is making things happen regardless of challenges which are many when you want to create innovations. And yes, as always, it starts at the top. CSM - HiFood project with Alianza Team Europe won FI #innovation award for their unique 'Mirror Tissue'. Well deserved. PICVISA and STADA Group Spain recently held a working session where their respective teams delved into the understanding of advanced technological solutions and the intricacies of end-of-life product management in the healthcare field. "It is increasingly important for manufacturers to engage in the complete life cycle of their products. To achieve this, it is highly advisable for brands to make an effort to understand both waste management schemes and technological limitations that influence the recovery and recyclability of products introduced to the market," says Luis Segui Pascual, Managing Director of PICVISA.
