Meanwhile, as food consumption in general, meat consumption habits are driven by numerous factors. This study conducts a #meat_demand estimation for lamb, beef, pork, and poultry at the Canada and provincial levels to capture meat demand patterns, magnitude, and structural changes while taking location into account. #expenditure

Russia able to ensure food security of its partners — minister This year, Russia has become number one in terms of export of barley and peas for the first time, Oksana Lut noted BARNAUL, July 12/ Russia has topped the target in terms of ensuring its own food security on almost all products, which is why it can ensure food security of its partners as well, Agriculture Minister Oksana Lut said. "Russia currently provides almost all products, with food security targets hit. <…> targets have been hit and topped, which enables us to [provide food] not only to ourselves but to our partners in other countries as well, ensuring their food security," she said at a roundtable on the State Duma’s committee on farming issues. This year, Russia has become number one in terms of export of barley and peas for the first time, the minister noted. The government has fixed a conservative target of wheat procurement in the range of 30-32 million tonnes for the 2024-25 rabi marketing season, according to the food ministry. The lower target has been fixed despite the Ministry of Agriculture hoping for a record wheat production of 114-115 million tonnes in the 2023-24 crop year (July-June). The target was fixed after a deliberation with state food secretaries in a meeting chaired by Union Food Secretary Sanjeev Chopra in the national capital on Wednesday. #foodsecurity #foodbusiness #governmentofindia

Practically every new dollar that enters the U.S. beef industry originates from consumers who purchase beef products. When consumer beef demand is robust, beef industry participants flourish. But when demand is sluggish, industry participants are immensely challenged. Anything producers can do to positively influence consumer demand for beef will ultimately benefit them. With funding assistance from the Kansas Beef Council, we are currently completing a study designed to rank factors affecting consumer beef purchase behavior. In the study we sought to rank factors affecting beef purchasing decisions by consumers. To accomplish this, we conducted a nationally representative survey of 3,001 U.S. consumers to identify and measure importance of factors influencing beef product purchasing decisions. My expectations are three pronged 1. R&D to better Seed 2. Linking Farmers produce to market effectively 3. Food Processing to boost to further increase its penetration in both domestic and international market for that all steps must be taken in

Senators Sherrod Brown (D-OH) and Mike Braun (R-IN) have introduced a bipartisan bill, the Food Supply Chain Resiliency Act, to strengthen critical food supply chains and lower food costs for American families. The bill would expand the Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Food Supply Chain Guaranteed Loan Program, which provides low-interest loans to businesses that invest in food production, aggregation, processing, and distribution. By expanding this program, the Senators’ legislation would help to create a more resilient domestic food supply chain, lower food costs for consumers, and create new markets for American agriculture products. This legislation is endorsed by many agricultural organizations, including the National Farmers Union, the American Farm Bureau Federation, and the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association. I support this bill because it will help to strengthen our domestic food supply chain and lower food costs for American families.
