Last weekend, we welcomed over 1,000 visitors to our Omaha campus as a part of Open Omaha. Guests were given a behind the scenes look into our test kitchens and innovation spaces, a chance to sample products, and photo ops with Chef Boyardee, of course!

Perhaps some locations like LinkedIn are more obvious, but to see what is happening here in Omaha at Conagra, I had no idea what to expect. Thanks for the water and the snacks. Now I have to go make some banana pudding Dolly Parton cupcakes for my husband...

Just Another Day at the Office (Except the Office is a Giant Tech Expo)
Hey everyone!
Just wrapped up another amazing expo, and let me tell you, my brain feels like it's been downloaded with the latest software update. These things are a treasure trove of cutting-edge tech, industry knowledge bombs, and enough free swag to make your cubicle jealous.
Why do I, a humble (and slightly sleep-deprived) industry follower, subject myself to the expo shuffle? Great question!
As someone who thrives on staying ahead of the curve (and avoiding becoming a relic in this ever-evolving tech landscape), expos are my battleground. ⚔️ It's where I get to:
Spy on the future: Companies are practically handing out blueprints for what's next.
Network with the best: Chatting with industry rockstars is way more energizing than another office meeting.
Fuel my innovation engine: New ideas are everywhere – sometimes you just gotta be in the right place to see them spark.
So, next time you see a bleary-eyed attendee with a backpack full of brochures, don't pity them! They're probably on a mission to bring the future back to their company (and maybe snag a cool new phone case along the way).

It's the last day of October which can only mean one thing (well, two if you include Halloween 🎃)...it's Lauren's Look Back!
October was a very busy month for the International Food and Beverage Technology Association. I had the pleasure of attending the NACS Show in Atlanta and the Hospitality Tech Expo in London where I connected with our partners in retail and hospitality. It's clear there are so many areas of crossover with foodservice and the key topics of conversation included AI (more so defined as "actionable insights"), the role of robotics 🤖 in the industry, and continued inflation.
Our members got together this month for quarterly chapter meetings, hosted at venues where attendees had an opportunity to better understand the technology used in each location! Getting a behind the scenes look at electric kitchens, robotic and automated pizza and fry machines, and more, we hope everyone who attended our meetings enjoyed the opportunity to gather, learn, and share.
As we look forward into November, we are thrilled to head back to Atlanta for the Location Based Marketing Association's RetailLoco and Vegas for Restaurant Finance Monitor's RFDC! If you'll be at either show, connect with us so we can catch up!

In reality, any recipe calls for all the ingredients to be added in the right amount and in the right order. As identified by local authorities, community and voluntary sector organisations, academic colleagues and most importantly the young people themselves, it is vitally important to embed local and culturally relevant nutrition education, alongside experiential learning into #HAFPlus2024. This learning needs to be fun and appealing to young people, with note to sustainability and planetary health. In this case Andy Haddon from Big River Bakery will be showing young people how to bake bread. And not just any bread, young people will be given the opportunity to make stotties! Northumbria University are proud to be playing a role in supporting Gateshead Council to deliver #HAFPlus24. Through an approach of engaging and working in partnership with anchor institutions, such as Newcastle United FoundationMetrocentre and other local organisations and businesses, from across Newcastle and Gateshead, we are honoured to play a roll in delivering #HAFPlus2024, a programme designed by young people for young people. By working together we can make a difference! By involving young people in the co-design, governance and evaluation of this programme, I am sure that the young people will keep us on track. Similar co-designed #HAFPlus2024 programmes are rolling out across Northumberland Leading Link and Newcastle StreetGames UK. Watch this space for more to come.
