Team communication is one of the key factors determining the success of joint projects and relationships among group members. Lack of clear communication can lead to misunderstandings, conflicts, and decreased work efficiency. In my opinion, the key elements that improve team communication are: 1. Establishing clear goals and expectations - In order of importance, with deadlines and responsible persons specified. - The principle of small steps allows for the progress of particularly complex projects. 2. Regular team meetings - Utilizing available tools such as Teams and other messengers. - It is important to maintain the regularity of meetings, which enforces constant engagement from team members. 3. Creating an open and trusting environment - It is particularly important for the team leader to be open to suggestions from team members and not impose their own solutions. The strength of the team lies in its diversity, and a strong leader inspires others to engage in open discussions. - In the case of multicultural groups, pay attention to individuals from outside the main cultural mainstream, so that everyone has an equal chance to voice their opinions.

Q: How do you get the best out of an external team? A: Be really clear on the team purpose and make sure you spend some time helping them develop as a team. In this blog, I share some of my favourite ways to ensure that an external team comes together and functions well despite the challenges of bringing those external stakeholders together. One key point that often gets overlooked, is being really explicit about the purpose of creating a team. Without knowing exactly why the team is there, it can be tricky to get everyone working towards the same goal. Would love to know if you have any other key ways of bringing an external team together! #TeamPurpose #TeamCulture #TeamWork #Facilitation #WaysOfWorking #Trust #ExternalTeam https://lnkd.in/eu4JZ8Ju

Do meetings always have to be efficiency driven? Depends on what you want to achieve, they can be leveraged for team building. One of the best parts of being an employee is to be part of a great team, and one of the best parts of being a boss is working with a great team. I see a lot of posts about inefficient meeting cultures, and recommendations on how to address them, and while they are all valid, there is something to be said for bringing your team together without an agenda. Have a bi-weekly session, maybe over lunch, time-box it, make it ok for everyone to raise ideas, hunches, something they heard, without a requirement for diligent preparation, slides or background documents. Brainstorm as a team, talk it through, you will find that some ideas are dismissed, some have actions identified, and every now and then some turn into the next Great Idea. The fun part is doing it together, it’s team building, you learn about each other and help each other, plus it adds a lot more value than axe throwing. What are your top tips for ongoing team building?

Teamwork, often a swift engine of progress fueled by diverse ideas, encounters hurdles when some team members hinder rather than contribute. Striking a balance between productivity and managing uncooperative team members becomes a common challenge. Some, driven by a laser focus on the end goal, choose to bypass patience and complete tasks independently. However, this approach prompts reflection on the true effectiveness of teamwork when obstructed by uncooperative elements. It raises questions about finding a middle ground – fostering collaboration while recognizing the urgency of reaching the goal. Communication emerges as a key solution. Clearly defining responsibilities and expectations within the team can mitigate conflicts. Addressing concerns openly and constructively when faced with uncooperative team members can lead to resolutions benefiting the entire team. Finally, navigating teamwork requires a nuanced approach. While individual productivity is commendable, it should coexist with efforts to build a collaborative and supportive team. How do people effectively manage difficult team members? It's a challenge worth exploring for achieving both individual and collective success. #TeamHarmony #BalancingProductivity #EffectiveTeamwork
