“Lawsuit could block massive lithium project near Salton Sea” If the company had properly addressed the community’s concerns, conducted required Tribal consultations, or simply waited a few months for the County’s programmatic EIR process to unfold—rather than sneaking in their groundbreaking by piecemealing partial project approvals without mitigating cumulative impacts—then they might not be in this situation. Given the global supply glut and currently low price of lithium, what’s the rush?
