🆕 Empowering Europe's Battery Revolution: Fives and upcell Alliance pave the way to 2030 economic sovereignty As one of the upcell Alliance board members and one of the founding members, Fives participated in an event organized at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) in Barcelona on October 5 and 6. Edouard Coudrillier, Strategy Director for Fives’ Smart Automation Solutions Division, has recalled the importance of this association which brings together numerous European industrials (gigafactories and solution providers) and academics, to foster the development of a robust European battery industry. In order to meet the evolving demand for battery production lines in Europe, it is key to create an industrial ecosystem including European players in the battery value chain. Within the Upcell Alliance, a dozen partnerships has already been formed, including the collaboration between Fives and BASQUEVOLT to develop an innovative cell finishing solution dedicated to Solid-State Battery technology. With a historical presence in the Automotive sector, Fives has been investing heavily in electrification over the past years and is now offering automation solutions for battery cell, module, and pack assembly.
