Many junior tennis players have difficulty to move forward and backward during a baseline rally. It mainly has to do with watching the speed of the upcoming ball. With higher speed you have to move backward and with lower speed you have to move forward. I always tell my players to compare it with the situation when you want to cross the street. When the approaching car has high speed, you better wait with crossing the street. When the same car has low speed, you have time enough to cross the street. So, in order to cross the street you have to watch the speed of the car. With tennis the same. It’s important to see the speed of the upcoming ball. That’s not easy, but when you focus on this, you position forward/backward will be better and the chance becomes bigger that you win the point. Findings reveal significant insights into concussion rates among athletes during their preseason and gymnastics was no different. 🤸 Approximately 9 gymnasts per 10,000 athlete participants experienced concussions, while in football, it’s roughly 6 players per 10,000 athlete participants. The spike in gymnastics concussions during the preseason is shocking.
