In Italy, the deployment of Starlink will be slowed because of Telecom Italia. The historic Transalpine operator would not provide Starlink with the necessary data to avoid jams. Starlink deployment is sometimes problematic. In France, a blockage had occurred due to the frequency authorizations and the deployment of several basic stations. In 2022 Starlink in the UK was achieving in excess of 400Mbps download speeds with #Starlink #High #Performance (HP), I am now getting barely 200Mbps on priority plans, less than Starlink Residential (Standard Actuated). Previously I could justify HP because of the higher throughput; better uplink; public facing IP; dashboard and perceived resilience to weather, water ingress and enhanced satellite visibility. However, now that performance has reduced by such a margin, but the capital and Opex costs have stayed the same, it looks to me that the deployment and power versatility of the new Gen 3 Standard antenna, plus #Netcelero and or #Teltonika for remote management, may make HP obsolete for non maritime use.
