Excited to announce the launch of Compass-FRWD, an investor-level, multi-asset class, capital allocation framework developed by CCSI and Man Group to tackle the global climate finance gap. Compass-FRWD prioritizes sectors and geographies based on decarbonization needs, strategically guiding capital investments where they’ll drive the most real-world impact. Governments are often told that while incremental reforms to ISDS are possible or sufficient, actually breaking free from their ISDS treaties is either impossible or unwise. This is simply not true. This week, CCSI published a new report that provides clear guidance on the various legal pathways available to governments seeking to exit the abusive and asymmetric ISDS system. We are proud to support the Global Capacity Building Coalition (#GCBC) in the launch of its new digital platform. The platform is designed to be a go-to global resource for financial institutions developing climate action strategies. At COP 28, the #GCBC first outlined its bold intention to enhance climate finance capacity building by developing a platform of technical assistance resources for financial institutions in emerging markets and developing economies (EMDEs), and with the launch of the digital platform today, we feel empowered that together, we can support capacity building in the geographies that need it most. We kicked off New York Climate Week with an exciting announcement: SDG Impact Finance Initiative has partnered with CCSI for a new research initiative! This project will tackle key barriers in impact investing, focusing on how to improve the accuracy of risk perception and explore solutions to the illiquidity challenges faced by investors in developing markets. By demonstrating how blended finance structures reduce perceived risk and diversify portfolios, we aim to make impact investing more attractive to institutional investors. The project will also assess credit rating methodologies, ensuring that blended finance is properly evaluated to unlock greater capital for sustainable development. The research will be supported by the blended finance advisory Route17.
