In our current commercial and financial climate, this project is perfect example of how to regenerate our existing assets today as opposed to a long and costly road to a new build.
“This effort has required nothing short of military-style planning.” While reimagining the emergency department at Mount Sinai, Michael Moxam and Gail Hannah share how over 150 sequenced phases were needed to keep the hospital operating 24/7. Canadian Architect magazine takes a look at the human-centered design for this thoughtfully coordinated project: https://stantec.co/4ebvHRp #StantecHealth #StantecToronto

Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs) face a unique set of challenges and constraints. With this in mind, it is imperative that they are able to create maximum value and impact from every single project, even those that seem small. In BWBR’s work with these facility types, we see how vital the role of the CAH is within their communities, both to the patients they provide critical medical services for and to the many staff that they employ, and our mission is to help CAH clients meet those needs. https://loom.ly/fNspfdE

The importance of this land purchase cannot be understated as it has propelled the trust into the vanguard of new hospitals to be delivered under the NHS’s New Hospitals Programme and Hospital 2.0. The new hospital will be complemented by a network of new road and the delivery of more than 1600 new homes in adjacent development plots. This really opens up the prospect to see transformational change in this part of Crewe with the benefits of significant public and private sector investment likely to be felt across Cheshire. https://lnkd.in/eSJwJuer

Building strong teams starts with building leadership skills.
What a great way to kick off September, working with the first year Family Medicine residents and their preceptors in South West Nova. Tara Burley and Sandi Roberts have had the privilege of doing this work for a couple of years now and love the energy and enthusiasm this group has for connecting with each other to learn about leadership. Family Medicine in Nova Scotia is in good hands! #leadershipdevelopment #leadershipcoaching

Incredible moment at CHCW yesterday, as the PCBH team finished out a record breaking month regarding number of visits and handoffs. In total, the team set all-time records by completing 1,422 visits and 530 same-day/warm-handoffs. These visits and handoffs aren't meet & greets, rather, they are radical moments that gather a patient's context and provide a contextually-relevant and compassionate intervention that ripples out beyond the humans in the visit. As we discuss regularly in emails and team meetings, numbers and metrics are cool to discuss and breaking records produces "warm & fuzzy" moments. And, metrics/records are never and will never be the goal. Instead, they are reflections of our program's infinite values. This isn’t about visits, this is about moments; this isn’t about finances, this is about healing; this isn’t about records, this is about love; this isn’t about individuals, this is about an incredible, talented, and unrelenting team and community. And... still... we crushed our all-time records!!! Pumped to see what the rest of the year produces!!!

https://lnkd.in/e8wp5JcR I recently read a great article from Construction Management about the NHS's report on hospital remediation work. It highlights some challenges RAAC poses in hospitals, such as limited access due to patient safety protocols or lack of available resources. The article highlights the work that NHS is doing to ensure a safe and effective remediation approach within hospitals and promote best practices in change management.

Owner & Consultant, Astrum Health LLC; Teaching Professor, Seattle University, Clinical Psychologist at SPA, PLLC; Co-lead Behavioral Health Strike Team at Washington State Department of Health
I'm thrilled to announce that I'll be speaking at the Washington State Board of Nursing (WABON)'s Health and Well-Being Conference, themed 'Supporting Nurses' Health and Well-Being: The Path Forward,' on October 20th, from 9:20 to 10:15 AM. As we transition into endemic COVID recovery, we need to move from a general concept of resilience to a set of operational goals and steps that don’t require more emotional and physical resources. For healthcare workers, reconnecting to meaningful motivation in the work itself, and with each other as we engage in patient care, is essential. Objectives 1. List behavioral health considerations related to large-scale disaster cascade recovery. 2. Understand the physical and neurochemical processes at work when transitioning from “emergency” mode. 3. Obtain strategies for working through grief, loss, and anger, and managing our complex emotional, cognitive, and interpersonal challenges. 4. Identify opportunities for developing Purpose, Connection, Adaptability, and Hope as the key ingredients of personal and professional resilience. The conference will be held at the Greater Tacoma Convention Center. Learn More: https://lnkd.in/gzxp2-aS
