We are pleased to announce the launch of our DFI Sustainability Report 2023, showcasing our substantial commitment and achievements in promoting sustainability in three strategic pillars: Sustaining The Planet, Sourcing Responsibly, and Serving Communities. Thanks to the dedication of our team members and business partners, we are driving positive change and achieving significant progress on our sustainability journey. In 2023, we proudly became one of the first Asian retailers to receive validation from the Science Based Targets initiative for our Scope 1, 2, and 3 near-term greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets. Our Morningstar Sustainalytics ESG Risk Rating improved to 22.9, placing us in the top 29% of the global food retail sub-industry rankings. Our waste diversion rate reached 54%, and we are intensifying our efforts to continue increasing it to 80% by 2023. Additionally, we made strides in making the plastic packaging of our selected Own Brand products more eco-friendly, with 57% already recyclable and a target to reach 100% by 2030. We also prioritise community engagement by volunteering and fundraising through our community programmes while fostering a safe and inclusive environment for our people and customers. Collectively, we contributed over 1,129 volunteering hours in Hong Kong and donated more than US$3.7M across our operating markets. We also remain vigilant in ensuring gender pay equity within our organisation. Furthermore, we are dedicated to enhancing governance to provide customers with safe, high-quality and ethically responsible products. Our compliance, privacy and cybersecurity measures are in place to protect the interests of our team members, customers and stakeholders. Moving forward, we are committed to reducing our carbon footprint and working towards achieving net zero. Together, we are working hard to make a meaningful and positive impact on sustainability.
