#PortraitOfTheMonth 📸 This month, we meet a very special employee! Many people know him & often ask: who is he really, what are his missions? Or what did he do to get where he is? Discover the story of Hervé Le Joliff, our Chairman. 👔 According to him, life is made up of trajectories and switches. He started his career with Spie to do his military service abroad as a volunteer in the oil & gas sector, a field that didn't really appeal to him at first sight. He had hoped to end up in English-speaking countries to perfect his English, but was sent to Venezuela! If you're going to leave, you might as well learn a new language, he thought! His ability to rise to the challenge and adapt to a complicated new environment appealed to them. 🇻🇪 ➡️16 months later, Spie Enertrans offered him an expatriate contract to take over financial responsibility and then the works on a construction site for a gas-oil separation unit at the end of a wellhead. Hervé then chose to branch out into the railway sector, to his great satisfaction. First as a track project manager, then as project director and finally as subsidiary director in South America. In 2007, with the acquisition of Spie Rail by Colas, he returned to France after 10 years abroad and took part in the international development of Colas Rail for almost 10 years. 🌎 You'll see Hervé more often in the field than in his office, because he likes to be close to the site. It is them who make Colas Rail perform. The energy that emanates from our projects, with its blend of commitment and team spirit, drives him and even infects him! He also enjoys working with our customers, building projects together that serve the common good. 🤝 In life, Hervé loves the cinema, a field in which he would have loved to have made a career! 🎥 A keen golfer, he likes to clear his head outdoors. What he appreciates above all is the strategic virtue of this sport. There's no need for power, just reflection, #daring and, above all, humility!⛳ To aspire to positions like his, he believes you need 3 qualities: ✅Commitment, being 100% committed to what you do & wanting to set things in motion ✅Humility: when you don't know what you're doing, you have to say so & ask for help ✅Patience, because nothing in a career is linear, sometimes you have to make adjustments & sometimes you have to wait your turn With a human touch, his day-to-day work involves listening to his colleagues and putting his skills to work for them. Bringing options to the problems that may arise or #sharing, communicating his will and energy to give meaning & bring sustainable mobility solutions to link people & territories together. 🛤️ #ColasRail #Career #TeamColasRail #DrivenBy #OnTrackForYourFuture

Airlines are expanding globally with passenger figures up 13.8% in March 2024 when compared with March 2023. 🚀 One area of the world that gets little coverage is Africa. Whilst stations such as Johannesburg, Cairo, and Lagos receive many international travellers, domestic travel in Africa is small. However, across the continent’s vast skies awaits opportunity. 🎇 Speaking with IATA, CEO of @Kenyaairways Allan Kilavuka stated that liberalisation through the Single African Air Transport Market presents cause for optimism and signs of industry growth. 💹 He believes that through cooperation between countries, investment and adoption of new technologies, ‘would elevate aviation in Africa to new heights.’ 🛫 Click the link to learn about the ground-breaking technologies being developed by Lomature: https://lomature.com/ Tackling operational cost in Africa | Airlines (iata.org)
