Today, Cognizant announced the expansion of its collaboration with Cengage Group, a global education technology company, to help provide advanced technology services that are designed to enhance operations efficacy, reduce the total cost of ownership, and support Cengage Group’s digital transformation. "Cognizant is a long-trusted partner and we look forward to this expanded partnership as we continue to further revolutionize education through technology and drive operational excellence," said Jim Chilton, CTO of Cengage Group. Content isn't the same as upskilling. I saw the conflation way too many times on the exhibition floor last week. People don't acquire skills by consuming content: If I just read about giving good presentations, I don't become a master public speaker. If I watch a video with 10 tips for giving feedback, I don't become a good feedback giver. Content may offer foundational knowledge, but the skill is developed through practice, feedback and reflection. If you're a vendor, it's not right to claim that you offer 'AI-based upskilling' if it's actually just a tagged content library or automated content creation based on a 'skill'. If the content is suitable, it may be the beginning of skill development but not the whole thing. Here's what can support upskilling: ◾️ Project-based learning ◾️ Mentorship programmes ◾️ Managers that give regular constructive feedback ◾️ Communities of practice ◾️ Peer review sessions and post-mortems ◾️ Regular individual or peer reflection practice ◾️ Simulations (role-plays, VR and/or AI-based) ◾️ Case study discussions In short: do the thing; understand how well you've done it; plan how you'll do it better next time. Absolutely yes to this! Becoming more skilled means changing your behaviour. Learning new or different, and more effective, behaviour needs feedback. It's so much more effective to get feedback from others more experienced and skilled than you are, e.g.mentors, teachers. Take pitching practice, take storytelling - vital skills to help you #fundraise. Where are you going to get the feedback you need to improve? Great post, Egle Vinauskaite. #AngelThink

Totaly agree, its content with context. Context is Real Life. It takes courage, guts and grit. first guts to face your own fears of being out of own familiar context into an unfamiliar one. Then courage to get over the overwhelming folks that will demonaze you for disengament of anchors that kept you alongside with them at some bay - as you navigate into deeper waters, prepare your self to embrace always putting in your rare miror being called worest of names. Absolutely agree. When I would count the courses that I have completed in Future Learn, CodeAcademy and Khan Academy (LinkedIn Learning also - I have so many badges here - more than a general from soviet times), I would basically be a music-composing accountant-programmer-mathematician. But this is quite far from the truth. I am what I do and practice often. Which is (sadly) not accounting or solving derivative and trigonometry equations nor compiling great modules for ERP. I do have some idea what I want the people who actually do this to have done :), but as for myself - no way. There is always a team involved. Learning for the sake of learning is fun also, but so are sudokus and crossword puzzles. I do have a well established fine Taekwondo back-kick (dwitchagi), however. I do practice it twice a week on real humans, but this is not really a life-skill, is it :)
