We want the best for our child. There are so many after school activities that seem so fun and can enrich our child in many areas. But our child might feel differently. Over scheduling our child with too many after school activities can have affects that we don’t at first realize. One parent could handle school supply shopping while the other manages back-to-school forms and paperwork. ~Stay Informed: Keep both parents informed about school events, parent-teacher conferences, and important dates. A shared calendar can be a helpful tool for staying organized. ~Create a Consistent Routine: Establishing a consistent routine in both households can help children adjust more easily to the new school year. From day one at school - kid's emotions are regulated by using an abundance of "WE" activities. This is why greeting children at the door every morning and waving to their parents, helps kids feel safe & well cared-for.
