Minnesota is leading the charge with an innovative solution to a persistent challenge: grid interconnection disputes. Some key takeaways are: 1) New legislation creates an interconnection ombudsperson role 2) Aims to resolve conflicts between solar developers and utilities 3) Provides guidance for projects up to 10 megawatts 4) Could significantly reduce project delays and streamline processes By centralizing information, advocating for efficient processes, and providing unbiased mediation, this role could be a difference maker in the state. Several states, including California and New York, have implemented similar positions. This growing trend signals a shift towards more collaborative, transparent grid integration practices. *** Read more about it here: https://lnkd.in/g_Ne-w5S

We are proud to support Stanwell Corporation Limited with #FEITH, a landmark Future Energy and Innovation Training Hub to innovate, test, scale and develop #wind, #solar, #hydrogen, and #battery storage technologies, and help facilitate the repurposing of Stanwell’s coal-fired power station in support of the Queensland Government’s Energy and Jobs Plan #QEJP. Unlocking #ESG benefits, FEITH aims to uplift current capabilities and is expected to play a critical role in Stanwell’s long-term energy transition journey towards achieving net-zero emissions targets. GHD’s multidisciplinary teams have worked closely with Stanwell to define the clean energy hub’s vision, masterplan, operational requirements and technology analysis to repurpose existing sites into future clean energy hubs, in alignment with #QEJP and the Queensland Government’s target of 80% renewable energy by 2035. The future in renewable energy has never looked so bright, and we’re excited to be part of this transformational project and commitment to clean energy. If you ask a local #cleanenergy developer what the biggest barrier to #communitysolardevelopment, they're most likely to say #interconnection. When state interconnection rules are not well designed, community solar projects are particularly susceptible to long delays and high interconnection costs that make projects almost impossible to build, Coalition for Community Solar Access says. We need better state interconnection rules so that we can make community solar more accessible to the 70% of Americans who otherwise couldn't install it where they live or work.
