Hit the link here for a great summary by Kirsty about food sensitivity issues and or other chronic health issues which go unsolved. A recent article in our local paper expounded about the waste of money an IgG food intolerance test is as it shows up nothing definitive. But for us in practice it does highlight areas to start investigating and supporting. It’s a bit like spraying mosquitos, it doesn’t do anything for the infestation and therefore we may say that insect sprays are useless. They are not working on the cause or finding the source of the problem. In my years and years of experience reading IgG lab results, they have often been very informative if you have the experience and depth of knowledge to understand the IgG response. Kirsty in her applied experience talks about many routes to investigate and to start supporting systems to get on top of food driven reactions. Don’t discount food intolerance tests as they have their place in gut and inflammatory health issues. And I do have a can of insect spray handy for those pesky mossies🦟

It's #WorldAllergyDay! Let's discuss food allergies and intolerances in pets. Did you already know that they can experience both? Food allergies occur when the immune system reacts excessively to specific proteins in their diet, while food intolerances arise from difficulties in digesting certain ingredients. Read our blog article to learn expert tips on how to identify triggers of adverse food reactions, select appropriate nutrition, and support your pet's health proactively 👉🏻 https://bit.ly/4btCNhx

Let’s break it down. 💡 IgE are type 1 classic allergies which can be any food or environmental allergen. IgG mediates type 3 allergies where food proteins are flagged as foreign invaders, leading to delayed chronic symptoms. Sometimes called a food intolerance. Unlike immediate allergic reactions (like those to peanuts), which can be severe and sudden, food intolerances can take longer to show up — up to three days after eating the trigger food. While food allergies can't be cured, food intolerances can sometimes be improved or managed by identifying and avoiding trigger foods. ImuPro can identify these problem foods so you can eliminate them from your diet, giving your body a chance to reset itself and reduce symptoms. 💚 Order your test online today: https://loom.ly/0RU-thw *All information is general and is not intended to be a substitute for professional medical advice. Navigating the complex world of food allergies, sensitivities, and intolerances can be overwhelming. PHCC, led by Dr. Nidhi, is dedicated to demystifying these terms for you: - Food Allergies: An IgE immune reaction, often lifelong, with symptoms like swelling or GI distress. - Food Sensitivities: Can involve various immune responses (IgG, IgM, IgA, T-cells), producing subtler, delayed reactions. - Food Intolerances: Typically stem from the body’s difficulty digesting certain substances, like lactose, not an immune reaction. How Dr. Nidhi Can Help: 1. Provides comprehensive testing to differentiate between allergies, sensitivities, and intolerances. 2. Offers personalized nutrition plans that respect your body's needs. 3. Guides you through elimination diets or introduces supplements to aid digestion. Food intolerance and food allergies both cause discomfort after eating certain foods but involve different body reactions and can vary in severity. Food intolerance primarily affects digestion and may cause symptoms such as bloating, gas, diarrhea, and stomach pain hours after consuming the offending food. It is generally less severe and not life-threatening. In contrast, a food allergy triggers the immune system, leading to reactions that can be immediate and life-threatening, such as anaphylaxis. Symptoms can include hives, swelling, difficulty breathing, and a rapid drop in blood pressure. Understanding these differences is crucial for managing your dietary needs safely and effectively, whether at home or when dining out. Food allergens, proteins found in food that can trigger sometimes severe or life-threatening allergic reactions, are a major concern for many. Even tiny amounts of these allergens can cause allergic symptoms. The top eight food items causing 90% of all food allergies are milk, eggs, peanuts, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, wheat, and soy. Eurofins Experchem, a trusted service provider, offers a complete range of analytical solutions utilizing SENSISpec ELISA technology: https://lnkd.in/emAYt3dj The SENSISpec Advantage: Allergen Control Materials: Designed to verify test validity, our materials are extracted according to IFU and can be directly applied in ELISA tests. SENSISpec Gluten Detection ELISA Kits: Our kits, utilizing the R5 monoclonal antibody, ensure compliance with regulations like European Directive 2007/68/CE, providing reliable gluten monitoring in food production. Food allergies and intolerances can be confusing for practitioners and patients alike. After all, these words are often used interchangeably despite having very different meanings. It’s important for clinicians to understand how these terms differ, how food allergies and/or intolerances may contribute to a clients’ symptoms, and how to incorporate this knowledge into the nutrition care plan for healing. I am pleased to announce that I have successfully finished the "Food Inclusivity: Understanding Food Allergies and Intolerances" course with Highfield International. This course has equipped me with valuable insights into the distinctions between allergies and intolerances. As allergies prompt an immune response, intolerances do not. Food allergies provoke the immune system's reaction to particular food proteins, potentially resulting in severe symptoms like anaphylaxis. Conversely, food intolerances stem from the body's incapacity to digest or metabolize specific food components, typically leading to milder symptoms like gastrointestinal discomfort. #highfield #foodsafetyculture #hygiene #hospitality #foodallergies #development #foodandbeverage #foodintolerances
