🏳️🌈 Together for #diversity and #equality! At CMS we are dedicated to fostering a diverse workplace where everyone is welcome, regardless of gender, age, disability, race, ethnicity, religion, belief, or sexual orientation. 🍦 Our employees not only had the opportunity to get a delicious after-lunch ice cream, but also to contribute to a good cause! Together we raised funds for ILGA-Europe, a prominent international non-governmental organization that brings together over 600 groups from 54 countries across Europe and Central Asia. The organization strives for a world where every LGBTIA individual is free, equal, and safe through community support, policy advocacy, and amplifying voices. Thanks to Valeska Hass, Veronika Zupa and Jelena Pavlović for organizing the event as well as to all employees who supported us! 😊 #cmslaw #pride #diversity #ILGAEurope

Phyll Opoku-Gyimah impassioned plea for the UK government to take a stronger stance on global LGBTQ rights, the timing couldn't be more critical. In a world grappling with multiple crises, it's easy to lose sight of the ongoing struggle for equality. However, as Opoku-Gyimah wisely points out, neglecting these rights is perilous. While we have celebrated significant advancements in LGBTQ rights over the past few decades, the recent regression in some countries is deeply concerning. The Anti-Homosexuality Act in Uganda, which criminalises same-sex activity and stifles advocacy for LGBTQ rights, serves as a stark reminder of the challenges ahead. The threat isn't confined to one nation; similar repressive laws are looming in Ghana, Kenya, and Iraq. Phyll Opoku-Gyimah's work with Kaleidoscope Trust underscores the importance of international solidarity and cooperation. LGBTQ rights are human rights, and they should be at the forefront of the global agenda. By presenting a clear Policy Manifesto to politicians from all sides, she is pushing for a united front in the UK to champion these rights worldwide. In an era marked by political instability, natural disasters, and pandemics, we must not lose sight of the rights and dignity of LGBTQ individuals. They face discrimination, persecution, and even the death penalty in some places simply for being themselves. The UK government, along with other nations, must prioritise these rights on the global stage. Only through concerted efforts and unwavering support can we hope to reverse the alarming trend of rolling back LGBTQ rights and create a more inclusive and accepting world for all. Please read & share: With so much going on internationally, from the aftermath of a global pandemic to natural disasters, the war in Ukraine and increasing political instability in many countries, I understand that it would be easy for politicians to overlook LGBTI rights. But that would be dangerous!!! We want to see a world where everyone has community, support, and can safely exist as their true self. Illawarra Shoalhaven Gender Alliance are one of our Ignite Pride grantee partners. This grant has supported them in running Trans and Friends Festival which has a focus on older LGBTIQ people helping to reduce isolation, promote healthy trans ageing, and support transitions into aged care, dealing with illness and transitioning later in life. Often our LGBTIQ elders can be overlooked during conversations about support for our communities. However, homosexuality was only decriminalised in New South Wales 40 years ago and many older LGBTIQ people especially those coming out later in life are missing or don't have access too knowledge, support, care and community where they can be their authentic self- which is why we fund projects and organisations that have a focus on LGBTIQ elders. Together, we can make a difference. [ID: a photo of an older masc person with a long white beard wearing rainbow suspenders at pride. HELP END HUMAN TRAFFICKING We ALL CAN Make an Impact It Takes A Village - www.ittakesavillagesf.org Join our Village and Support three non-profit organizations dedicated to improving Survivor services, and Preventing #HumanTrafficking and #Exploitation. #Housing is one of the top stability factors at risk of Human Trafficking. In @Polaris’s Polaris (formerly Polaris Project) survivor survey, 64% reported being #homeless or experiencing unstable housing at the time they were recruited into their #trafficking situation. #Traffickers are able to #exploit potential victims’ fear of sleeping on the street by offering them safe shelter to recruit them into trafficking. #LGBTQ populations are at an increased risk as well as runaway/homeless #youth and some may choose to engage in survival sex to get access to shelter. The National Human Trafficking Hotline has also documented cases of traffickers targeting homeless shelters as recruitment grounds. #prevention #exploitation #humantrafficking #Polaris #missiondriven #coalition #homelessnessawareness #awareness #sextrafficking

Happy Pride Month, everyone! 🌈 As we celebrate love, equality, and diversity during June, let's remember that food insecurity disproportionately impacts the 2SLGBTQ community, especially in Oklahoma. Many 2SLGBTQ individuals experience unjust challenges, such as disproportionate rates of poverty, discrimination, and restricted access to resources. Here are a few ways we can make a difference: 1️⃣ Support local 2SLGBTQ organizations in Oklahoma that work towards ending food insecurity. They provide resources like food pantries and meal programs. 2️⃣ Donate non-perishable food items, toiletries, or funds to 2SLGBTQ community centers or shelters in your area. 3️⃣ Educate yourself and others about the inequities that the 2SLGBTQ community experiences in Oklahoma and across the country. By understanding the challenges, we can better advocate for more inclusive policies. Every small act of kindness and support makes a difference. Let’s work to create a world where everyone has equitable access to food and an opportunity to thrive. #PrideMonth #FoodInsecurity #Equality #EndHungerInOK #Allyship #2SLGBTQ
