To anyone thinking of becoming a K-12 school system Superintendent, check out this upcoming roundtable discussion. Panelists include retired California Superintendents, but can surely be relevant to other states. #educationalleadership #k12education
UPCOMING ROUNDTABLE REGISTRATION: The number of California school superintendents quitting or retiring is escalating, despite increased salaries and benefits. Among the reasons for leaving: Polarized politics, stress and threats stemming from pandemic school closures. Some are being pushed out by newly elected school board majorities. • Why have superintendent jobs become so difficult? • What can school boards do to attract and retain superintendents? • What can superintendents do to navigate politically charged board meetings and issues? Join EdSource's Diana Lambert and Anne Vasquez as they explore these questions and much more with a panel of veteran superintendents and experts.

Executive Director at Springhouse–Fundamentally transforming the purpose and practice education to build beloved community
We spent this year meeting with all of our Springhouse alumni. The purpose of these meetings was to reconnect, learn what they were up to, and see the impact Springhouse has had on their lives. Here is a little bit of what we learned: 90% said they feel alive 95% say they create new things 95% say they can feel their feelings including grief 85% say they are environmentally accountable 100% said they are creative and authentic 90% are empowered and live with joy 78% of our alumni are working and roughly 40% choose to go into higher education right after high school. We found that some alumni wanted to wait to consider higher education until they gained some financial independence and greater clarity about how they wanted to continue their learning. We are still compiling the data on what they appreciated about Springhouse and what they wish they had experienced that they did not. One thing that did stick out is that a little over half said they use technology mindfully; the other half did not. One alumni reported that he uses technology as a "crutch" more than something that is useful or that brings him alive. To learn more about our high school visit https://lnkd.in/eRXiuJgu

Workforce development is stronger because of real relationships with people. Partnerships are about mutual benefit and respect. The workforce program makes a real impact in overlooked people’s lives, because of the many people backing it up. #cityfields #partnerships #workforcedevelopment
Partnership is a word that gets thrown around a lot in the world I work in. But this group that I am humbled to be a part of is something special. We have come together with a laser focused mission...to serve those that are often overlooked and forgotten.
