Recycling Process Innovations | Glass Color Sorting. Recycling processes have evolved significantly to meet the growing need for efficient separation and reuse of materials. Among these innovations, color sorting technologies have become a focus, particularly in the management of glass recycling. These advancements recognize the challenges of traditional recycling methods, which often struggle with contamination and limited material separation. The MSort AW 3-WAY technology offers a specialized solution that improves color sorting while eliminating contaminants in recycling operations. This innovative glass sorting machine features a 3-way system that can expand up to six output streams. Operating at high efficiency, it processes materials with particle sizes from 1-50 mm and has a capacity of approximately 12 tons per hour. The effectiveness of this MSort model in the recycling process is validated by its remarkable technical capabilities. These systems achieve up to 99.9% sorting accuracy, significantly reducing contamination and improving the quality of recycled materials. It can detect up to 25,000 particles per second, ensuring a thorough separation process. This outstanding level of performance not only increases recycling efficiency but also supports proactive operational practices that promote more responsible resource management. #recyclinginnovation #sortingtechnology #sustainablesolutions #glassrecycling #plasticrecycling #industrialprocessing

Are glass packaging always recyclable? 🤔 While #glass #packaging is commonly perceived as universally #recyclable, it's essential to understand that it needs to follow certain design-for-recycling criteria to be recyclable. A significant concern in glass recycling is the choice of opacity. ⏩ Although opaque colours (common in cosmetics or perfume packaging) are visually appealing and protect the contents from light, they present a challenge for recycling processes. ❔ Glass recycling facilities use optical sorters to separate glass, using a LED technology (based on light). ⏸ If the packaging is not transparent enough, the optical sorter cannot recognise it as glass. The packaging will not be sorted, and thus, not recycled. At CIRCPACK, we use #operational sorting tests and our deep industry knowledge to assess the #recyclability of your glass packaging. We identify its recycling barriers to help you redesign it and make it recyclable ♻ 🚀 Eager to discover a glass recycling plant? Re-Play materials are the first example of upcycling in the self-adhesive industry within a closed-loop recycling system: containing up to 20% of recycled glassine liner, they have a higher value than the original siliconized liner. This project started by completely rethinking the use of the liner: glassine is half the weight of a self-adhesive product and is composed of pure fibres with valuable mechanical properties. The LCA analysis confirms how responsible and circular the use of these label materials is: compared to a self-adhesive material made from recycled cellulose using the traditional method with a deinking process, CO2 emissions are reduced by 45%, energy consumption by 49% and water consumption by 55%. https://bit.ly/3RGaHHv #makingprogress #replay #glassine #transformation #upcycling #wastereduction #elevatingcreativity #luxurylabelling #labelling #primepapers #primelabels

Glass recycling with TRENNSO-TECHNIK®: Closing the loop for a valuable resource 🥛 Glass is a high-quality raw material. So the term 'waste glass' that is used for broken bottles or jars doesn't do justice to it. 🔄 Glass is infinitely recyclable, yet effective sorting and processing are key to optimizing its reuse. TRENNSO-TECHNIK® offers sorting machines and advanced technology to precisely separate different glass fragments, ensuring a high-quality cullet with minimal impurities for sustainable glass production. Some challenges in the glass recycling industry include contamination of collected glass, inconsistent quality of cullet, and lack of infrastructure. With the support of TRENNSO-TECHNIK®, we address these issues through our advanced separation technologies, which ensure high-quality cullet. Our advanced glass recycling technology: 🔹 maximizes the purity of glass fractions, allowing for high-quality cullet suitable for re-melting 🔹 conserves raw materials, reduces landfill waste, and saves significant energy in the production of new glass 🔹 enhances the sustainability of glass recycling by conserving both water and energy If your company is interested in sustainable innovation, contact us to schedule a test at our Technikum facility, where you can witness the performance and effectiveness of our advanced separation technologies first-hand before implementing them in your own operations! #tstcompany #glassrecycling #sustainability #trennsotechnik #recyclingmachines

What is composites recycling? Most composites are made with fiberglass and thermosets that cannot be readily remolded, causing these materials to be difficult and expensive to break down. Industrial consumers need a recycling method that can output high-value materials economically, while also providing a circular recovery and reuse of fiberglass composites. That is where Carbon Rivers comes in. The company’s glass recovery process captures glass fiber from end-of-life composites and converts it to next-generation products again. And the polymer resin oils are recovered as well for extracting monomers for next-lifecycle plastics and fuel. Learn more about Carbon Rivers’ glass fiber recycling and commitment to creating a green, circular economy at: www.carbonrivers.com. #CarbonRivers #CR #CRG2G #CRNano #glasstoglass #circulareconomy #sustainability #composites #compositesrecycling #glassfiber #windbladerecycling #windturbines #windenergy #cleanenergy #recycling #reuse #advancedtechnologies #advancedsolutions #nextgeneration

At the #PlasticRecyclingConference, Kate Eagles, program director for Association of Plastic Recyclers (APR), shares top-line results from a new APR report, prepared by Eunomia Research & Consulting, “How to Scale the Recycling of Flexible Film Packaging: Modeling Pyrolysis’ Role in Collection, Quantity and Costs of a Comprehensive Solution.” According to the report, currently, approximately 124,000 tons of residential PE film is recovered, over 90% from retail drop-off. Pyrolysis has the potential to increase that number to 930,000 tons, recovered through pyrolysis. Says Eagles, “This is a theoretical assumption, but what it does show is that recovery of residential film is not easy or inexpensive. But we kind of understand what has to happen. We understand the parts of the system that would have to work together. “Chemical recycling technologies like pyrolysis are one step in a long system, and like any reprocessor system, including mechanical, the material collection will not scale without change in the package design, in collection and sorting, probably with a policy assist, and in consumer participation. These various levers will really be needed for systemic change.” #PlasticsRecycling2024 #recycling #plasticrecycling #advancedrecycling #chemicalrecycling
