In a recent opinion piece, The New York Times author Jeff Goodell discusses the escalating climate risks in U.S. urban areas, emphasizing the potential for catastrophic outcomes if extreme heat and power outages coincide. The piece suggests that property markets must account for the increased risks of heatwaves, advocating for investment in resilient infrastructure and energy-efficient technologies to mitigate the impact of future climate events. Goodell emphasised: “One of the most dangerous illusions of the climate crisis is that the technology of modern life makes us invincible. Humans are smart. We have tools. Yeah, it will cost money. But we can adapt to whatever comes our way”. Full article👉 https://nyti.ms/4eHLQOv #climatecrisis #physicalrisk #climatescenario #heatwave #unitedstates

Consistency is Key 🔑 "If you want to be successful, you need consistency and if you don't have it, you've got no chance." - Paul Merson. About two months ago, I embarked on a personal mission as a Meteorologist and Climate Scientist to educate and raise awareness about the pressing issue of #ClimateChange. Along the way, personal commitments momentarily paused this journey. However, I'm delighted to announce that I'm back, re-energized and more determined than ever to continue this vital initiative. Let's together take meaningful steps toward addressing this worrying global crisis. Stay tuned for updates, insights, and actions we can all take to make a difference. Consistency will drive us forward on this path of positive change. 💪🌍 Topic : Greenhouse gases Let's talk about Greenhouse gases(GHGs). Do you know what they are? I've explained in simple terms. Hope you learn something today 😊 #ClimateChange #Consistency #PositiveChange #greenhousegases

The Fifth National Climate Assessment substantiates what we are witnessing in the United States and around the world. According to the report, our nation now experiences a billion-dollar weather disaster every three weeks on average. And the U.S. Chamber of Commerce states, "A challenge of this magnitude requires collaboration, not confrontation, to advance the best ideas and policies. Together, we can forge solutions that improve our environment and grow our economy—leaving the world better for generations to come." Earth Day was on 22 April. It calls attention to the reality of climate change and the need for urgent action to fight it. The science offers irrefutable evidence beyond a reasonable doubt. The various on-going flooding, heatwaves, hailstorms, and other extreme and deadly weather events, demonstrate the reality and urgency of climate change in a concrete and even dramatic way. Yet it is notoriously difficult for people to act on climate change. President Tharman came up with an ingenious formulation (see https://lnkd.in/gGCtGHR7). In brief, we have to be unsettled enough to want to engage with some boldness and creativity, for a better future. But not so unsettled as to disengage and lie flat. Being a classic wicked problem, what will be helpful is to unpack and identify what each and every one of us can do to effectively and holistically tackle climate change, based on clear archetypes, across: - Individuals - Households - Industries - Corporations - Civil society organizations - Governments - International bodies Such actions can span quotidian conduct, spending behaviours, R&D, tech adoption, new policies, fiscal and monetary programmes and strategies, green financing, international standards, and more. It is also important to sync up and coordinate the actions in an overall masterplan, even as each of us is clear about what is our role and what we can do in our various capacities to contribute towards mitigating and adapting to climate change. As the climate affects all of us, it is incumbent upon each of us to play our role by becoming part of the climate solution. We owe it to ourselves and our future generations. #ecosperity #climatechange #publicpolicy #earthday (Image: AFP)

#ClimateChange affects us collectively, and while many are familiar with the concept in a general sense, the key question is: How well-versed are you in the nuances of this complex issue? Assessing the depth of your knowledge becomes pivotal in determining whether it is substantial enough to propel meaningful and effective actions. https://lnkd.in/efixAVAm

Expert in Thermodynamics and Mathematics. Possess Bullshit Piercing Plasma Gun against Reality Distortion Field. Esp in Clean Tech and AI and… Human Rights CEO and Founder at Alp Tech
To all you climate deniers, skeptics and general dunnb ass-irers, who rather argue whether human caused the rain than bring an umbrella (as an analogy to current global boiling…) Let me make this even dunnber for you folks but with words you might need a dictionary for… We are in an Abrupt Non-linear Climate Cascade because we Broke Earth’s systems for stable weather. And… Those other grand !diots that negotiated an arbitrary 1.5C Paris Accord number? They are now deer-in-the-headlights shocked because their minds only can take lines and not curves. As in… Climate feedback cycles can completely Break Down and Global temperature can go up in a curvy Hockey Stick fashion. Instead of measuring air-temp, when ocean temp broke 0.1C years ago, air temp will go up 20 folds in an increasing exponential fashion. I am sure people will object my choice of language and decision to insult the general pro and con Climate folks (not sure why a con-climate people should even exist!) But to them, I say… I no longer have time for your BS and utter stup!dity in basic Math and Thermodynamics 😜

Over the past month, reporters on the weather “disaster” beat could barely catch their breath in the face of the heat, floods, fires, the disturbances in ocean currents and numerous other climate-related catastrophes. A new type of disaster reporting is needed to keep up.
