Around the world, women and girls face stigma, exclusion and discrimination simply because of their periods. Negative attitudes and misinformation about periods limit women and girls’ potential. Our Red Cross and Red Crescent teams work to raise menstrual hygiene standards even during emergencies. They provide pads and menstrual health items, engage with communities to demystify periods, and set up WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) facilities. Because periods don’t stop in an emergency! At the IFRC, we call for more action and investment in menstrual health. Together, we can make a #PeriodFriendlyWorld a reality.
