The Cliff Berry, Inc. Emergency Response Team was hard at work this weekend, working along side our partners at TowBoatU.S. Ft. Lauderdale, to refloat and safely move a 92’ sportfish that was beached in Delray Beach, FL. Our team safely pumped off 800 gallons of diesel and 500 gallons of water into shoreside containers to lighten the vessel and allow her to refloat and be towed back out to sea and to a safe marina. All completed without any injuries to personnel, damage to the environment nor to the vessel. It is always great to work with professional partners and to have a successful salvage and response that avoids any negative impact to our local environment. #CBI #emergencyresponse #salvage #environmentalprotection #protectouroceans #protectourbeaches #USCG

We are saddened to share that our founder, Port Everglades icon and a true legend in the environmental services industry, Mr. Cliff Berry Sr., passed away Monday night at the age of 93. From beginning his career with Pacific Molasses in Port Everglades in 1950 to founding Cliff Berry, Inc. in 1958, he grew the Fort Lauderdale-based family company into an internationally recognized provider of comprehensive environmental services that today includes eight facilities across Florida and over 200 employees. His son, Cliff Berry II, who has led the company for over 25 years as President and CEO, continues to carry on the legacy of CBI into its 65th year. “Senior”, as he was affectionally called by many, genuinely dedicated his life to the Port Everglades’ maritime community, including such worthy causes as the Seafarers’ House, Trinity Lutheran Church, and was a longtime officer and board member (1979) of the Port Everglades Association, which in 2020 recognized him with its Lifetime Achievement Award. He was a true pillar and titan of the Fort Lauderdale and Port Everglades community. He will be truly missed by the generations of people and lives he touched.
