In our first Conversation about Inclusive Leadership, we covered a range of challenges associated with the current "crisis of DEI". One key insight we gained was that organizations respond differently to the current crisis. Those that have approached it as a problem of organizational culture change and succeeded in embedding DEI into the culture are steadfast and confident in their continued support for DEI. On the other hand, those that have treated it as an ancillary “initiative” or “program” tend to see their DEI efforts and commitments slowly eroding, including funding and executive support. This month's conversation will focus on what it means to embed DEI into culture and share experiences and perspectives to hopefully support DEI leaders now. Join us for this important conversation on Inclusive Leadership and the crisis of DEI. As a corporate leader, I’ve witnessed firsthand the transformative power of authenticity. 🌈 Recently, I had the honour of attending the TT Pride march, and it truly was a magical experience. It made me realize that Pride isn’t just a celebration—it’s a courageous declaration of self-love and resilience. PRIDE is about embracing your true selves and finding the strength to say, “This is who I am. But the spirit of Pride also embodies the broader value of acceptance in every aspect of our lives. By fostering an inclusive environment, we ensure that all voices are heard, all identities are respected, and everyone has the opportunity to thrive. This is the only way we can drive true innovation and build a compassionate society. In the workplace, when we champion Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), we create sanctuaries where everyone feels safe to shine. These spaces empower us to be our authentic selves and to lift each other up. Let’s be the leaders who not only accept but celebrate every unique identity. Let’s create environments where courage is met with support, where being different is valued, and where everyone can thrive as their true selves. Everyday is an opportunity to showcase the power of inclusion and acceptance. #Pride #DEI #Inclusion #Leadership

Sustainability, Business Strategy, Development & Transformation, Innovation | Monitor Deloitte Norway | Top 30 under 30 | Podcast host 🎙️
Earlier this autumn I was fortunate to be featured in Forbes, where I got to be part of an bigger issue that addresses topics close to my heart such as diversity in senior leadership roles, under-representation and lack of inclusiveness. Together with other professionals I share my experiences that I've faced and challenge the lack of representation There is just one Black CEO in the whole of the UK FTSE 100, in a country where close to a million black people are in the workforce. In Norway, it is just 0.22% with a multicultural background in Norwegian management groups. In the 50 largest companies in Norway, only one of management groups has a person with a multicultural background in the management team. This is a worrying development that is going backwards. We need more inclusive environments. This requires systemic work and efforts, but then we have to mean it and actually do it. Less talk, more action! - Link to the full Forbes publication: 🔗 https://lnkd.in/dYs968ZQ - Link to full BlueSky Thinking publication about my experiences: https://lnkd.in/dFSqbJic

🌟 Join us for an important series of Roundtables designed specifically for BIPOC leaders and staff in the Canadian international cooperation sector. Please share widely to ensure inclusivity and engagement! 🗓️ Save the Date: April 11th: Leaders Roundtable (1:00-4:00pm EST) April 16th: Staff Roundtable (1:00-4:00pm EST) ℹ️ Our goal is to provide a safe and inclusive space for Black, Indigenous, and Racialised (BIPOC) leaders and staff within the sector. These Roundtables aim to foster dialogue, collaboration, and the exchange of experiences to address shared challenges, promote mutual support, and advance diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. These roundtables will contribute to the development of a sector-wide offering in the form of a comprehensive report. 🔍 Clarification: - For the April 11th Leaders Roundtable, leaders are defined as C and D suite executives (CEOs, Presidents, Directors, Boards). While the ARC Hub embraces a broader, community-centered understanding of leadership, we've come to this specific definition to streamline participation and ensure the creation of safe(r) and closed spaces for focused discussions. - All other members of organizations are invited to join the Staff Roundtable on April 16th. 🌐 Let's come together to create more honest, equitable, and sustainable futures.
