Strengthening mouth muscles can have a positive impact on eye muscles due to the interconnectedness of the cranial nerves that control facial and eye movements. The facial muscles and the extra ocular muscles are innervated by cranial nerves that often work in coordination. For instance, the trigeminal nerve (cranial nerve V) affects both mastication (chewing) muscles and some functions of the eyes. Additionally, facial expressions, which involve mouth muscles, can influence the orbicularis oculi muscle around the eyes. Activities such as practicing exaggerated facial expressions, blowing balloons, or using resistance tools like a therapy putty can help strengthen mouth muscles. These exercises can improve overall facial muscle tone, which may indirectly benefit the muscles around the eyes by enhancing coordination and neuromuscular control. ————————————————————— #specialeducation #teacher #teachersofinstagram #education #learning #exceptionallearning #clarifistaffing #speechtherapy #occupationaltherapy #physicaltherapy #schoolpsychology #jobopenings #neurodiversity #inclusion #teachers
