👩⚕️👨🏾⚕️ Despite the great technological breakthroughs already achieved, of which Generative AI is the most compelling and recent example, healthcare remains a human-centric industry. There is no healthcare without a health workforce. It is therefore all the more important to foster a culture of empowerment, ensuring workforce job satisfaction and retention and contributing to the betterment of healthcare for all. “𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗹𝗼𝘄: 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗼𝗱𝘂𝘀” is the subject that Anne-Charlotte Dymny, Clariane’s Chief Information Systems and Digital Transformation Officer, has been invited to debate last week at the HLTH Europe event in Amsterdam, alongside the panelists Delphine Groll, John Whyte, Dr. Ute Wiedemann and Anna van Poucke for the moderation. 💬 “Becoming a doctor, a nurse, a caregiver is a calling and yet, we have never observed, across the globe, so many people leaving the profession. At Clariane, our employees are the most valuable assets that we want to retain and grow. Our employer promise stands clear: At Clariane, you have your place to make a difference.” Anne-Charlotte Dymny For us, symmetry of attention is of the utmost importance; it’s by taking care of our employees that we can ensure that our patients and residents are well looked after. This is why we strive everyday to: ✔️ Support our employees to find their place in a safe, open and inclusive working environment, where individual differences are honoured. ✔️ Allow them to develop their potential and their career path with ongoing training through the Clariane University, the Group’s training Platform. ✔️ Free-up medical and care time by alleviating the “administrative burden” thanks to technology. Technology enthusiasts, let's talk! Both the recent 2024 Spring Budget and NHS Long Term Workforce Plan highlight the pivotal role of technology in modern healthcare to meet the soaring demand for services and to support workforce capacity. New research from The Health Foundation highlights that clinicians champion electronic health records (EHRs) and AI-driven tools as top time-savers in streamlining workflows and improving patient care, emphasising the need for a balanced focus on administrative and clinical innovations. However, addressing challenges like IT infrastructure and staff engagement is key to realising these benefits. Fostering a collaborative approach to technology adoption ensures that innovations are tailored to meet clinicians' real-world challenges. Exactly. It’s what we do with to which counts which is why it has always been important to coproduce and collaborate.
Productivity gains will come not just from technology itself, but from how well it is used. Our new survey reveals the barriers clinical staff face in using technology effectively in the NHS and highlights the actions needed to address them ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/eVWaxPfc [Alt text: Bar chart of the main barriers to using technologies effectively that the clinical staff surveyed said they encountered in their work. It shows that lack of IT support and expertise was the main barrier.]

Doctor Reverse Thinking in Global Healthcare Reverse thinking is a creative approach that starts with the ideal goal and plans backwards. In healthcare, this can open up global opportunities for doctors. Applying reverse thinking: 1. Envision the goal: High-quality healthcare for everyone, everywhere. 2. Identify necessary steps: - Develop our tele skills - Build an international network of doctors - Leverage digital platforms 3. Implementation: - Start with remote consultations - Gradually expand services - Use platforms like StrongBody to reach global patients StrongBody is an excellent example of applying reverse thinking in healthcare. This platform allows doctors to register their services, connect with patients worldwide, and provide remote health consultations. By joining StrongBody, doctors can expand their practice scope, share expertise, and contribute to improving global community health. Reverse thinking and platforms like StrongBody are changing how we approach healthcare, turning the dream of global healthcare into reality.

Good to see the importance of change management highlighted, as a key enabler of unlocking benefits. Don’t think just switching on the tech is going to be enough. There is plenty of evidence to prove that badly implemented EHRs damage productivity rather than enhance it.

Really interesting read from the The Health Foundation - exploring which technologies offer the biggest opportunities to save time in the NHS. "Our survey found that electronic health records (EHRs) and tools for professional-to-professional communication (including videoconferencing and digital messaging tools) ranked highest in terms of which technologies are saving staff time right now" "This contrasts with the typical health policy emphasis on cutting-edge clinical and patient-facing technologies." "Many immediate gains will come from optimising and spreading existing technologies rather than adopting new technologies." Well worth a read..... #DigitalHealth #NHS https://lnkd.in/ebRqn6JN

Founder @Upvio - Reimagining practice management & telehealth solutions with AI for modern digital healthcare providers
Is our current healthcare system truly equitable? The resounding answer: Not yet.🤔 Despite the 31.4 million doctor visits recorded in November 2023, disparities persist, particularly among minority, rural, and low-income groups. But there's still a reason for optimism as many health technologies emerge. Tech giants are also teaming up with healthcare providers to pioneer solutions addressing the root causes of inequality. Consider Smart Crowding and Itecho Health, actively combating issues like hospital overcrowding and chronic disease management, showcasing the power of synergy. Yet, challenges remain on the road to equitable healthcare, especially with accessibility being one of the pressing issues. More than innovation, we need to ensure these technological advancements are available to everyone, regardless of socioeconomic status or location. We can't also ignore data biases. Tackling these biases is essential to ensure the solutions health tech develops will serve everyone equitably. While significant progress has been made in leveraging technology to narrow healthcare disparities, our journey is far from complete. To our co-health technology innovators, let's persist in innovating, collaborating, and advocating for a healthcare system that leaves no one behind. Together, we can steer towards a future where fairness isn't just a distant dream but a concrete reality. #healthtech #virtualcare #ehr #practicemanagement #healthcare
