This is a critical part of gut checking and evolution to find innovative ways to deal with problems! Sadly, we live in a time where preparing also makes you marked as insensitive, panic-mongering, giving people PTSD, and so many other sensitive inflicted things. We all hate to have these conversations, I would love to not live in a world like this but we must also be realistic. We are here, we are living in this unprecedented time of social/moral/ ethical decay, and as the saying goes “ I would rather be a warrior in a garden, than a gardener in a war” We must prepare and learn from these mistakes when there is no cost to life rather than have lessons learned after 1 to many Life's are taken. Keep training, keep preparing, keep coordinating and collaborating.
Join BOMA San Diego's Emergency Preparedness & Sustainability Committee as we team up with San Diego Police and Fire for our annual Active Shooter Drill on September 16, 8am-12pm. This collaborative exercise enhances community ties, provides vital training for first responders, and lets building management practice emergency procedures under law enforcement supervision. Contact Lauren Winter at [email protected] to volunteer or get more info. Visit www.bomasd.org to register!

🙏🏽 Reflecting on the recent tragedy at the Kansas City Chiefs parade, our hearts go out to the victims and their families. Events like these remind us of the importance of prioritizing safety in public gatherings. Let's come together as a community to support one another and work towards creating environments where everyone feels secure. 🚨 Safety First: It's crucial to have robust security measures in place during public events. Increased law enforcement presence, thorough bag checks, and enhanced surveillance can contribute to a safer environment for all attendees. 👥 Community Vigilance: We are all responsible for each other's safety. Encourage a culture of awareness and vigilance within your community. If you see something, say something. Reporting suspicious activity promptly can make a significant difference. 🤝 Collaborative Efforts: Event organizers, local authorities, and community leaders should collaborate to develop comprehensive safety plans. Regular drills and simulations can help ensure that everyone is well-prepared in case of emergencies. 🗣️ Open Dialogue: Foster open conversations about safety within our communities. Discussing potential risks and educating each other on emergency procedures can empower individuals to respond effectively in critical situations. 🔗 Solidarity: Let's stand united in promoting safety and resilience. Together, we can create an environment where everyone feels safe to celebrate and enjoy community events without fear. 🌟 Our thoughts are with Kansas City, and may this tragedy inspire positive change towards building safer communities everywhere. #SafetyFirst #CommunityStrong #KansasCityStrong #Swifties #CovertAlert

Are you ready for Fire Prevention Week? #NFPA #fireprevention #firesafety #fire #FirePreventionWeek23 #safetyfirst #FirePreventionWeek #nowyouknow #viralpost #solidsecuritytechnology
Fire Prevention Week is observed each year during the week of October 9th in commemoration of the Great Chicago Fire, which began on October 8, 1871, and caused devastating damage. This horrific conflagration killed more than 250 people, left 100,000 homeless, destroyed more than 17,400 structures, and burned more than 2,000 acres of land. Since 1922, the NFPA has sponsored the public observance of Fire Prevention Week. In 1925, President Calvin Coolidge proclaimed Fire Prevention Week a national observance, making it the longest-running public health observance in our country. During Fire Prevention Week, children, adults, and teachers learn how to stay safe in case of a fire. Firefighters provide lifesaving public education in an effort to drastically decrease casualties caused by fires. #NFPA #fireprevention #firesafety #fire #FirePreventionWeek23 #safetyfirst #FirePreventionWeek #nowyouknow #viralpost #solidsecuritytechnology
