Does the RCMP work for Rocky View County? No, they don't. However, the County and the Province have an agreement with the Federal government for the RCMP to provide policing services within the County. So, what's the difference between the RCMP and our County Enforcement? The RCMP focuses on preventing and solving crimes, enforcing various laws at different levels of government, and building community relationships. It's important to note that, as a separate entity, we don't control the RCMP's response times or timelines. On the other hand, your County Enforcement handles the enforcement of select provincial legislation such as the Traffic Safety Act, along with the County's bylaws, such as Animal Control, Road and Transportation, Land Use, Noise Control, and more. Your Forney Police Department leadership uses these statistics throughout the year to ensure our resources are properly distributed throughout the city. The report also allows us to pinpoint areas of improvement, staffing needs, and equipment needs for the entire Forney Police Department and Animal Control. If you're not careful, you will undervalue the ones who stayed. At this agency, we want to recognize the ones who have been here the longest. Meet, Mary Chambers, a civilian member who works at our Animal Control Section as an Assistant Office Supervisor. She has remained at this job for 35 years, 6 months, and 10 days. Her job includes presenting civil cases in front of judges and she stated that one thing she loves about her job is that they are a "voice for the voiceless". She also said she has been a "foster failure" multiple times as she ended up adopting instead. 🙂 Below was a conversation with our longest-serving civilian brought over to the Sheriff's Office from the BOCC: 1.) It's National Clean Off Your Desk Day, what is always on your desk? A Florida Statute book and Polk County Ordinance book 2.) It's National Joy Germ Day so what has brought you positivity or influence over the past 35 years? My faith and having motivational sayings around my workspace. 3.) Favorite animal? Bulldogs and Boston Terriers 4.) Favorite football team? "The Bucs of course" 5.) Favorite thing about working for the Sheriff's Office? Serving the public 6.) Favorite thing about your job? People are often very upset about circumstances, and I get to deal with them in a manner they're most satisfied and I deal with the most difficult ones. 7.) Fun Facts: I have been through 17 administrators, and I enjoy spending time with my grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 8.)
