The City of Cleveland seeks applications for an appointment to a 4-year term on the City’s Lead-Safe Advisory Board. The Board meets at least quarterly and consists of seven (7) members who are not current employees of the City. The Board has the following duties: - Provides recommendations for improvements to the City’s lead-safe policies and procedures; - Review quarterly reports on the progress and status of the City’s Lead-Safe Certification requirement and other lead poisoning prevention related efforts to City Council, the Directors of Building Housing, Public Health, Community Development, and the Lead Safe Cleveland Coalition; - Coordinates with outside entities to produce impact analyses of the Lead Safe Certification Program; - Reviews those impact analyses and reports the results to City Council, the Directors of Building and Housing, Public Health, Community Development, and the Lead Safe Cleveland Coalition.   Applications demonstrating any number of the following characteristics will be strongly considered: - An understanding of the technical nature of creating lead-safe living environments; experience as a landlord with three or fewer units; - A background in the practice of environmental and/or administrative law; and/or - A perspective of one’s family or one’s own lived experience of elevated Blood Lead Levels.   Please submit a letter of interest and CV to Emily Collins at [email protected] by July 12, 2024 if you wish to be considered.

I kept calling about the peeling lead paint in my commercial rental and nobody at Cleveland City Hall would notice whatsoever. Just paint it.....duh.
