Talk Show Host: The Brian Crombie Radio Hour on Sauga 960am every night at 6pm Chief Operating Officer Terracap Management Inc.
We find ourselves amidst a housing crisis exacerbated by local city councils yielding to NIMBY interests, failing to show the political courage needed to enact necessary change. This has perpetuated the greatest generational inequity in history. To address this, we must streamline bureaucratic processes, accelerate approvals, foster denser developments around transit hubs and major roads, and promote "missing middle" housing options. Simultaneously, we are witnessing a surge in criminal activity, from burglaries to car thefts and gun violence. Our discussions around transit fail to adequately tackle this pressing issue. Congestion worsens, distractions abound with populist but economically unsound proposals, while inefficiencies persist and taxes climb. Where is the visionary leadership for a brighter tomorrow? Drawing upon 24 years of immersion in Mississauga's community, I have actively contributed to its progress. From co-chairing the Mississauga Summit and leading the Mississauga Arts Council to engaging in grassroots campaigning and advocating for civic causes through Transit Alliance, my commitment to our city runs deep. Vote for better Mississauga! Vote for better future for you and your kids! ... https://lnkd.in/gSRcEKZT #briancrombie #bcrombie #briancrombieformayor #votebriancrombie

St. Louis does not have a branding issue; it just needs the initiative to clean itself up. Every Wednesday our company has a team meeting where we discuss issues/solutions facing different sectors of our business. A tenant recently sent us a maintenance request asking someone to throw away a rotten fruit delivery that was made to a nearby apartment. Our property manager replied to the tenant that they should put the bag in the trash container that was several feet away. Problem solved! Every day/week/month/year, St. Louis is reminded of its issues: County/City divide, crime, declining population, lack of investment/businesses, vacant buildings, etc. Sounds like we should rebrand STL as “Sisyphus City.” (Note: In Greek mythology, Sisyphus was a king that was sentenced by the gods to an eternity of frustration where he would push a boulder up a hill only to see it roll back down every time it was close to the top) It starts with small things. Sometimes lazy people do not put trash in the dumpsters located in the alley behind my house. I don’t let it sit there magically wishing for the trash fairy to pick it up. I get my hands dirty and clean it myself. St. Louis needs more “doers” if they want to see progress. I am not sitting this one out for my son’s generation to clean things up. It is my job as a parent and STL citizen to make it a better city for them. Time to take out the trash! #community #initiative #inspiration #grit #fight Greater St. Louis, Inc. 🚧 **Attention Jacksonville Community!** 🚧 Hey everyone! 👋 Have you noticed the increasing amount of debris on our roads lately? From tire remnants to construction barricades, it's not just an eyesore – it's a safety hazard for all of us driving through Jacksonville, especially on highways and bridges. We believe it's time for action! Here's what needs to happen: 1. **Let's Get Organized:** We're calling on the city to form rapid response teams. These heroes could swoop in and clear the debris, keeping our roads safe and smooth. 2. **Your Voice Matters:** We need an easy way for everyone to report road debris. Imagine a simple app or website where you can quickly flag a problem. Let's make it happen! 3. **Spread the Word:** Knowledge is power! Through social media, flyers, or community meetings, educating our friends and neighbors about how to report road debris is key. 4. **Working Together:** Construction companies need to step up and clean up. It's all about accountability and keeping our streets clear. 5. **Regular Check-Ups:** How about more frequent road inspections? Let's catch those hazards before they catch us by surprise. **Who's Responsible?** - **Department of Transportation (DOT):** They're the big players for state roads and highways. - **City Public Works Department:** They handle our city streets and bridges. - **Law Enforcement:** Our local police can help by reporting and responding to debris. - **Us, the Community:** Yes, we can volunteer, spread awareness, and help keep our roads clean. Let's come together as a community to tackle this issue head-on. 🤝 Share your thoughts, tag your friends, and let's start a conversation that leads to real change on our roads.
