Only you can prevent forest fires

Civil Unrest or Uncivil Behavior The term "civil unrest" has been slapped onto a variety of events that often end with property damage, injury, and even death. Over the Memorial Day Weekend in New Jersey there were several violent encounters between young people that included a non-fatal stabbing. Places like Wildwood, Ocean City, and Seaside Heights are now going to be forced to press their Police Officers into long hours to quell this type of behavior for the upcoming summer season. From my experience this is not civil unrest, rather simply violent out of control behavior conducted by entitled youths. These folks are not protesting for a cause, they are just looking to destroy. The safety of residents, visitors, and stakeholders alike are about to collide. The time is NOW to have a zero tolerance policy issued and enforced. Emergency Management Keys 1. Verify that safety equipment is present and functional such as A.E.D.s 2. Introduce drones to the mix to identify unruly individuals and groups 3. Increase uniformed AND plain clothes presence 4. Have EMS on standby throughout the entertainment area. 5. 🔥 Day 6: Community Action 🔥 As Fire Service Week comes to an end, let's shift our focus to community action. Today is an opportunity for us to come together and make a difference in fire safety. Here are a few ways you can get involved: Organise Neighbourhood Fire Safety Drill's: This interactive event will include hands-on demonstrations, fire extinguisher training, and valuable information on evacuation procedures. Organize a Neighborhood Cleanup: Clearing debris and maintaining a clean environment can help reduce fire hazards in our communities. Host a Fire Safety Workshop: Gather your neighbors and friends for a workshop on fire safety tips and emergency procedures. Volunteer with Fire Services: Reach out to your local fire department and inquire about volunteer opportunities or ways.

"Through the Smoke" has been a monumental project for me, marking our first show greenlit by the city and paving the way for "On the Beat" with Haines City PD. Since launching our YouTube channel in January, the series has garnered nearly 100,000 views, not including the finale. More importantly, we’ve brought the incredible members of the Haines City Fire Department into the homes and hearts of our community, showcasing who they are and what they do. This project was my first major undertaking since leaving the film industry, requiring me to handle everything from setting up shoot dates and planning schedules to managing audio, lighting, and cameras, as well as editing and distribution. At times, it was overwhelming and took away from family time, but it was truly worth it. Now, when a fire truck passes by in Haines City, I hope the community thinks, "I wonder if B-Shift is working?" or "What’s Nate cooking for the crew tonight?" This was a passion project for me, blending my film career with my deep-rooted affinity for public safety, thanks to my family's background in firefighting and law enforcement.
