RUN….RUN….RUN…. Stay as far away from this LA as you physically can until they address the serious failings in the children’s services department of Herefordshire council that go right to the very top!! The ‘professionals’ (I use that word loosely) higher up are selfish, egotistical and manipulative! even after accepting a mountain of failings imposed on a family they continue to make sure everything fits the narrative and agenda they have chosen so that they can continue to hide the severe magnitude of the failings and mess ups that have been and continue to be made. The children are sadly just collateral damage in their mission to hide the truth! They ignore court orders, court approved plans and abuse families that they are meant to support all while turning a blind eye to the abuse children are suffering while in their care! or they make a never ending list of excuses and reasons as to why they missed the abuse that was inflicted on the children while in placement!….There are a few SWs that are genuinely good at their job and are trying to make a difference to the failing and inadequate department within the council but they can only do so much when some of failings are happening because SWs come and go so quickly as they struggle to maintain steady staffing partly because SWs are being over worked, over stretched with extremely high case loads with not enough hours in a day to be able to adequately manage and safe guard all children in their case loads but also because serious failings are happening higher up the career ladder. Then sadly when mistakes are made, failings happen and there is evidence given to support those claims those higher up have no choice but to acknowledge and accept those claims BUT they then very quickly put the blame on the SWs that are on the ‘ground’ trying their best to do the job and working with the families which means they then are the ones that have to face the backlash from the families, those close to the families and the general public are lead to believe that the SWs are the ones to blame for the issues so they become the focus and targets of the frustration, pain and anger……but just like most things you have those that want to help and make the service better you have th other side of workers that don’t have the right intentions. For example one of the SWs in the children with disability team who is actively going behind parents backs encouraging family members to take restraining orders out on the parents even though they have had no contact with them in over 2.5years! Last time I checked if you’re having very minimal to no contact it’s not harassment? Or maybe I have it wrong which means the police officer I spoke to has it wrong as well.

“The goal is to make changes along the way that benefit the community as a whole: things that are short-term, mid-term, and long-term. So short term, we've done some community events, we're planning our second major event—a Kids Fest that's coming up in September. Since 2020, there's a feeling of ‘we want to do things as a community’ and that feeling was what led to the tree lighting ceremony in December. We've hired a code enforcement officer, not nearly as exciting to talk about but absolutely necessary. We instituted some things internally that I felt would be more fair to the residents, like providing reminders for water bills, for instance. Mid-term improvements would be looking at staffing, and we've done tremendously well with hiring public safety officers. Staffing public safety is a challenge that every municipality across the country is trying to fix, but our full staff is eight and we now have seven. It wasn't at that number when I first hired and I'm very proud to say we're almost full because of how important that department is and how supportive the community is of our public safety. Long-term, we are working on economic development. When I grew up, I would ride my bike down the street, I would go to a local shop there, buy baseball cards. A developer drove through and said, ‘Wow, this feels like a Hallmark community, everybody's walking, everybody's waving at you.’ People want to be part of that, so we’re working with Bay Future. They’ve got a good, strategic process over there and we’ve got a follow-up meeting soon to talk about how to recruit more businesses here. Those are long-term changes and not overnight, but we'll get there. If folks want to contact me, I'm very available. You can call 989-893-2441, email me at [email protected], or stop by City Hall. I'm not hard to find– just look for the bald guy wearing a Michigan "M'' somewhere. —Craig Goulet, Essexville City Manager #heybaycity #baycity #baycitymichigan #michiganjob #michigancareers #baycounty #baycountymichigan #youngprofessional #intern

If you're looking for a great place to live, you should consider Chandler or Gilbert, Arizona. Both cities have a lot to offer, such as beautiful weather, friendly people, and plenty of amenities. But which one is better for you? Here are some factors to help you decide: ✅ Chandler has a more urban vibe, with a vibrant downtown, diverse culture, and many entertainment options. Gilbert has a more suburban feel, with a family-oriented atmosphere, spacious parks, and a charming historic district. ✅ Chandler has a higher median income, lower unemployment rate, and more job opportunities than Gilbert. Gilbert has a lower cost of living, a lower crime rate, and better schools than Chandler. Ultimately, the choice between Chandler and Gilbert depends on your personal preferences and lifestyle.
