As we wrap up National Public Works Week, we’re excited to spotlight our most important transportation project: the Dublin Boulevard Extension. This long-planned extension will create a crucial link between neighboring cities, enhancing transportation infrastructure and improving neighborhood access for local residents. You may have seen members of our Public Works and Communications teams discussing the project back in March at the St. Patrick’s Day Celebration, alongside engineers from BKF Engineers. Thank you to everyone who stopped by and showed interest! Our Public Works Department consists of dedicated individuals committed to enhancing the quality of life for all Dublin residents through a variety of essential duties. We could easily dedicate an entire month to showcasing their great work, but for now, we’ll conclude here.

As part of National Public Works Week, we’re spotlighting the Village Parkway Complete Streets Improvements project. Check out the proposed streetscape renderings in this post to see where staff is at in the process. This reconstruction of Village Parkway offers us a chance to reimagine the streetscape, upgrade it to meet current and future needs, accommodate all modes of travel, and enhance school access. Key project elements include: • Wider sidewalks and ADA upgrades • High-visibility crosswalks • Class IV bike lanes (separated with a vertical buffer) • Landscaped medians and buffer islands • Protected intersections • Enhanced transit facilities The project is currently in the design and environmental assessment phase, with construction anticipated to begin in 2027. We’re proud of the work our Public Works team is doing to improve our community. #NPWW
