Award-winning digital marketer helping businesses with: ✍️ SEO Copywriting 💰 Sales Page Copywriting ⚖️ Legal Copywriting 🌐 WordPress Development 🤖 AI prompt engineer & image creator 🎺 Trumpet player 🏍️ Motorcyclist
What a lovely way to end the week - receiving a certificate of appreciation for judging the Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards. This wasn’t the first time I’ve been a business awards judge. And hopefully not the last. It's helped me improve how I approach awards writing for my business. Here are some of my tips for answering business award submissions: ❓ 𝐀𝐧𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. Directly answer the questions asked in the submission form. Avoid veering off-topic. 🗣️ 𝐔𝐬𝐞 𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐚𝐠𝐞. This means avoiding industry jargon. You want judges to clearly understand your submission. 🎭 𝐓𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐚 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲. Tell judges the story about the challenges, solutions and results you’ve had in your business. This approach helps humanise your brand and makes your submission memorable. 📊 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐲 𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬. Use specific data and metrics to demonstrate your business’s success. This makes your claims more credible and impactful. 🔍 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐭. Check your submission for typos and grammatical errors. A well-polished entry shows professionalism and attention to detail. 🌟 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬. Acknowledge the role of your team in achieving success. 🔢 𝐊𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐭. Many awards have word limits on their submissions or time limits on any video submissions. And I’ve read many entries that don’t stick to them. 📅 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲. Give yourself plenty of time to draft, revise and perfect your submission. I found it easy to pick out entries that were rushed or put together at the last minute. And don’t forget to celebrate your achievements! 😉 𝐃𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬? #awards #businessawards #businesssuccess

Serving as a jury member for numerous awards over the years has been an enriching and enlightening journey. Each entry tells a unique story, but those that genuinely shine share common traits. Here are my top tips to help your submission stand out and capture the jury's attention: 1. Choose your category wisely 🎯 You'd be surprised how many entries fail to address the category they compete in. It sounds simple, but it's crucial. Jury members are looking for submissions that clearly meet the outlined requirements. Overlooking this step can be a costly mistake. 2. Keep it real 🎬 Jury members often balance this role with their regular jobs and responsibilities. Avoid generic copy-pasting, and instead, invest time in making your submission thoughtful and engaging. 3. Grab attention ❗ Imagine sifting through hundreds of entries. It's easy to see why a strong opening matters. Start with something captivating to set the tone for the rest of your entry and ensure the jury members are eager to read on. Then, frame your entry as a narrative. Make it engaging and relatable, just like a story you'd enjoy reading yourself. Adding a specific video versus your ad asset is definitely a plus. 4. Show your impact with evidence 📊 Listing achievements is one thing, but demonstrating their impact is another. Jury members want to see tangible results. Support your claims with solid evidence. Facts and figures can transform a good story into a great one. Without proof, your claims might come across as unsubstantiated. 5. Minimize jargon 🚩 While some industry-specific terms are necessary, try to keep your language as clear and accessible as possible. Jury members often come from different sides of the business. Avoiding overly technical jargon ensures your message is understood and appreciated. Looking forward to seeing your amazing submissions and celebrating your success! 😊🏆 #AwardTips #JudgingExperience #WinningEntries

📢More exciting news from the Forum!📢 As judging begins for this years ‘Forum Awards’ we are delighted to announce that our awards programme has been accredited by The independent Awards Standards Council having received The Awards Trust Mark - Advanced! (The highest level you can achieve in your 1st year of accreditation) It’s great to have our programme independently reviewed to allow us to keep #raisingstandards within our own team, showing a commitment to delivering the unparalleled access to learning, sharing and Best Practice you are all accustomed to 😊 We are extremely proud of this recognition and it really ratifies the transparency and robustness of our programme. Just read what some of our previous entrants and judges provided to the independent review panel… “The insight I’ve gained from being part of the Forum Awards has been priceless, I’ve grown my network and received recognition for my professional achievements. However, most powerful has been the opportunity to share and learn with others, supporting others to achieve their goals while gaining inspiration for new ideas and ways of working.” “The Forum awards are supporting improving the contact centre industry through the sharing of the best of each individual or company who go for an award. They recognise new talent as well as well-established teams and individuals. They promote new ideas and share the strengths and learning from all entrants, so everyone feels like a winner from sharing their story.” “I would like to say that the awards is a powerful platform within the contact centre planning industry as it is a way to celebrate and recognise incredible talent and achievements. It is an invaluable opportunity to celebrate individuals and organisations who are delivering excellence, innovation, and insight. By showcasing and recognising ALL those who take part in the process, it creates an inspirational arena for other forum members to learn from as well as aspire to which builds a culture of continuous improvement within the forum. On a personal note, being a judge allows me the opportunity to engage with the latest trends and innovation and the knowledge gained here can be directly applied to my role and my organisation potentially inspiring innovative ideas and best practice.” We are excited to keep developing the Awards and being recognised as ‘Outstanding’ next year! Founder and Director of Club Hub UK/ The UK's Largest Kids Activities Directory/ Supporting the Children's Activities Industry/ Club Hub Awards and Event/ Owner of Musical Theatre Kids Club "Tessa's Jazz Hands"
If you are applying for a Club Hub Award for the first time, here are some of our top tips for completing your application: Read the criteria for each award and check your eligibility for the categories. You can apply for as many categories as you like on one application. Each award you select will open a text box to write an answer specifically for that award. Write your answers in a separate document first. SPELL CHECK and check your word count. Use the word count available. You do not have to max it out, but others might, so if your answers are well below this, think about what you might be missing out. Write your answers assuming that the judges have not heard of you, or your business, before. They can only award marks for information given in the answer. Use examples to evidence your answers. Think about your biggest achievements, the impact your business has had, what makes you unique, what your future plans and goals are. Read the suggestions for ideas of things to consider including in your answers. SPELL CHECK again Please also check out my application help video clip on this page - https://lnkd.in/g54qVba4 #ClubHubAwards2024 #ClubHubEvent2024 #ClubHubUK #ClubHubMember

Exciting developments in the works at IN:WA to help our independent business members thrive
IN:WA BOARD UPDATE With a short break between our events for members and community, our board have been focussed on other pillars including Representation and Education. The IN:WA board gathered recently to discuss and decide on key items that we are planning and working on in the background. While there are some wins to celebrate with a healthy and growing membership and high engagement from members and our wider community, there is also more work to be done. High on the agenda at this board meeting: 🧑🏫 Education pilot program A unique opportunity for members to access international education and training modules through a pilot program that we will announce soon. 📣 Representation of the sector A strategy to guide our approach to representing the sector to government and corporates in WA, and the first moves to deliver our messages and requests. 🤝 Partnership with other orgs Increased visibility leads to increased interest, and we are working on our collaboration approach so we can help organisations similar to our own for the greater good of the communications and creative sector in WA. Big thanks goes to our board members for their commitment and time. Chaired by Jeff Champtaloup of braincells, our board includes Ivona Gaspar of Juicebox, John Petkovic of Workhouse, Ben De Jonge of The Cut, Mark Braddock of Block, Claire Aindow of equ and Nanda Gunnink of Studio Orange. And special mention to our member, Anthony Hasluck from Clarity Communications for his excellent work on the Representation strategic plan. 🙏
